He knows the judge is going to overrule him, so I think he's just trying to interrupt the flow of the evidence Dr. Vass is giving.

She has already admitted to using chloroform.  This is the hand written detective notes if you just scroll down a tiny bit you will see she admits using it on her when she was in bed.

Apparently so many people coughing in court today, it has been reported that the Jury keep glancing over at the spectators, possibly wishing they would disappear due to having an annoying distracting noise to listen too. 

Baez is getting a lesson in practicing law.

I don't know why he asks questions - I don't think he understands the answers.
