That's how I'm seeing it anyway. My heart broke for Cindy today!
Don't know anything like as much as you guys about this case, haven't been watching, just reading summaries and a bit of this thread...So, may have been answered before, but....
Was Cindy speaking to Casey regularly on the telephone after she moved out? And if so why wasn't she asking to speak to Cayley? Surely that would be 'normal' to ask for your grandaughter to come to the phone? Or maybe she did ask and was repeatedly fobbed off? Surely one would begin to get suspicious if that were the case?
Has there been anything made of Cindy's relationship with her husband? If he had sexually abused Casey and they were caught up in all of the secrets and lies that entails, is there any suggestion that Cindy knew/suspected anything? Is it possible that George and Casey knew exactly how Cayley died, but Cindy didn't? That they were somehow covering up for each other and keeping it secret from Cindy?.......I do find it very, very strange that George reckons he smelt human remains but then drove the car away and 'aired' it and didn't call the polce.
Cindy felt no need to alert the police before she did. She believed Casey`s lies.
Think that may have answered some of my questions ^^^^ Scotty......So, Casey was telling Cindy that Caylee was not with her but the the nanny? So, next question, did she ask for the nanny's tel no. so she could speak to her?
also wanted to ask why everyone is saying this stuff about the dad chucking a plastic bag over a wall? When in the thread below that ev has posted with the daily blogs of the case there is this quote from Mr Birch the tow yard manager -
The tow-yard manager, Mr. Birch, suggested they open the trunk and he noted that they were both standing side-by-side. The odor that came out of the trunk was even stronger, and a few flies flew out. Inside they found a standard white garbage bag. No other items were in there. One of them suggested they look in the bag to see if the origin of the smell was there. The prosecutor asked what Mr. Birch remembered seeing in the bag, and he remembered a pizza box and papers, he said it was very light and there were no food items. There was nothing in the bag that would have created that smell. Mr. Birch offered to dispose of it for George Anthony and threw it in the dumpster.
later when george anthony is questioned about this he confirms it by saying -
He opened the trunk, and saw a white garbage bag, he could see through the light colored plastic that there was a Pizza box, he could see âArm & Hammer,â and maggots. The manager pulled it out and tossed the bag away.
So what wall is everyone on about? is there more than one plastic bag?

As far as I know Gypsie, there`s only one wall (tow-yard wall) and one plastic bag involved in the case, but I could be wrong.
Ev posted somewhere on here that George had thrown Caylee over a wall in a white plastic bag.
I replied that what was thrown over the wall by George was a white plastic bag filled with rubbish taken from the trunk of Casey`s car at the tow-yard.
My mistake, it was Mr. Birch who threw it over the wall.
Maybe Ev was saying George threw Caylee over a different wall in a different white plastic bag. I don`t know.
It`s the first time I`ve heard that story.
Hope that`s cleared things up for you.
Yeh but that was my opinion based on what i had read somewhere, i was new into the case at the time, so explained further how i would differentiate my shocking findings, i e, to state what was my opinion and what was fact according to defence or prosecution. lol
*It may also be a way to plant an idea in minds to help to open up in thinking about other alternatives, as we don't know how the body was kept hidden, or who dumped the body* xx
Could George have got rid of the body? very possible, Could George have helped hide the body?

Hi Supes
There are so many excuses that Casey gave to her Mum it`s hard to keep up. Mainly it was Caylee was with the nanny while Casey was working (she didn`t have a job) but other times she and Caylee were staying with imaginary friends or Caylee and Casey were staying with the nanny. Cindy kept asking her to put Caylee on the phone but she was either at the park/the zoo/the mall with the nanny or sleeping etc etc. I don`t know for sure about Cindy asking for the nanny`s phone number but she was so frustrated and distraught about not seeing Caylee, I would imagine she would have. (but that`s just my opinion) When Cindy was asking questions she couldn`t answer - Casey would have a bad signal and get cut off or she had to rush off because she was going into a meeting or something. She was fobbed off time and time again.
When Cindy eventually found Casey(at her new boyfriend`s flat) and brought her back home, she told them the nanny had kidnapped her 31 days ago. Cindy went into shock and immediately called 911. The phone operator asked to speak to Casey, at one point in the conversation she told the operator that she`d received a call from Caylee the day before ( I assume from the non existent nanny`s phone) and they`d talked about what book she was reading.(or something like that.)Caylee was dead.
In her police interviews she said she didn`t report it because she was scared the nanny would harm Caylee so she decided it was best to conduct her own investigation to find her -In bars and nightclubs.

These are not my words, they are from elsewhere but they are very interesting....
I hesitate to use the words "Cindy's Lies" because I do not believe she is involved in her granddaughter's disappearance, but she's not consistent in her statements and actions.
From this report on July 18th:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/...5928334.story?page=2
In early June, Casey Anthony told her mother she was being sent to Tampa (http://www.chicagotribune.com/...00100404010000.topic) for work and would be back in a few days. Later, she said she was going on a "mini-vacation" with friends and taking Caylee with her. Cindy Anthony never thought much of it.
<snip>
"I had no reason to believe they weren't where they were supposed to be," Cindy Anthony said. "I don't know why she fabricated this."

my caylee is missing
Current mood: distraught
She came into my life unexspectedly, just as she has left me. This precious little angel from above gave me strength and unconditional love. Now she is gone and I donât know why. All I am guilty of is loving her and providing her a safe home. Jealousy has taken her away. Jealousy from the one person that should be thankfull for all of the love and support given to her. A motherâs love is deep, however there are limits when one is betrayed by the one she loved and trusted the most. A daughter comes to her mother for support when she is pregnant, the mother says without hesitation it will be ok. And it was. But then the lies and betrayal began. First it seemed harmless, ah, love is blind. A mother will look for the good in her child and give them a chance to change. This mother gave chance after chance for her daughter to change, but instead more lies more betrayal. What does the mother get for giving her daughter all of these chances? A broken heart. The daughter who stole money, lots of money, leaves without warning and does not let her mother now speak to the baby that her mother raised, fed, clothed, sheltered, paid her medical bills, etc. Instead tells her friends that her mother is controlling her life and she needs her space. No money, no future. Where did she go? Who is now watching out for the little angel?
Inconsistencies:
Casey/Caylee's planned vs. unplanned departure from Anthony home:
1) Myspace: The daughter <snip> leaves without warning and Where did she go?
vs
Statement: Casey Anthony told her mother she was being sent to Tampa (http://www.chicagotribune.com/...00100404010000.topic) for work and would be back in a few days. Later, she said she was going on a "mini-vacation" with friends and taking Caylee with her. <snip> "I had no reason to believe they weren't where they were supposed to be," Cindy Anthony said.
Why does Cindy tell reporters that Casey left for a vacation that she knew about yet writes on myspace that Caylee left without warning?
I think they left without warning, after some "drama" that Casey wrote about on someone's facebook 9 days after the 15th of June:
Casey Anthony (http://www.facebook.com/s.php?...080&id=508228238) (Orlando, FL) wrote at 2:40pm on June 24th, 2008 she still has yet to move into the house. hell, in the past 9 days, i haven't even been living at the house. DRAMMMMMA. i'll fill ya in later on.
Knowledge of Casey/Caylee's whereabouts vs. not knowing where they were:
2) Myspace: Where did she go?
vs
Statement: "I had no reason to believe they weren't where they were supposed to be," Cindy Anthony said.
Does she know where they went? Or doesn't she? She can't decide.
Cindy's mood: Upset vs. Indifferent:
3) Myspace on 7/3:
my caylee is missing
Current mood: distraught
vs.
Statement on 7/18:
...she said she was going on a "mini-vacation" with friends and taking Caylee with her. Cindy Anthony never thought much of it.
Was she distraught or whas she not thinking much about it?
I'll go with distraught.
Knowledge of lack of job vs. believing Casey has a job:
4) Cindy implies she believes her daughter has a job in her statement: Casey Anthony told her mother she was being sent to Tampa (http://www.chicagotribune.com/...00100404010000.topic) for work and would be back in a few days.
vs.
myspace: No money, no future.
If she had a job, one would think she had money from the job and possibly a future? Did Cindy know or not know that Casey didn't have a job?

Facts from the court regarding the car and the smell and how George answered questions.
Cindy and George Anthony were notified on July 15 that Caseyâs car had been towed. Cindy was described as being angry at the costs of paying to get the car released.
George Anthony took the witness stand for the third time this week.
When George and Cindy went to pick up the car, he testified that he smelled a âpretty strong odorâ within three feet of the car.
âThat particular smell when you smell it is something you never forget,â George had said it had the odour of decomposed human remains and George said he knows this as he has smelled it many times before being an ex policeman.
He said he checked for damage to the car, and was relieved when he didnât find anything unusual. Then he opened the trunk.
âI donât know if I said it in a high whisper, or in just a real low tone voice, but I just said, âPlease God, donât let this be Casey or Caylee,ââ George said.
He found a white trash bag with a pizza box inside, maggots, and an Arm and Hammer liquid plastic container.
Burch threw the bag out into the dumpster, but they still smelled the strong odor.
George told the court that he wanted to get out of there, and was âvery emotional.â
He drove home with the windows down â the smell was so strong that they couldnât leave them up
- What i seen from the video: In answering the defence's questions, George was quite worked up (so was Baez) He avoided answering a straight yes or no answer to the duct tape being on the gas can and also avoided answering if the bad odour was stronger when he opened the boot. He looks at the prosecution and holds his hands out saying "come on" like he's saying "help me". He did this a few times. Before he left the stand he said " If your trying to trick me, your not going to trick me"This is all on the video of George on the stand http://www.wftv.com/video/28052959/index.html I have posted this link a few posts back as well. Why wouldn't he just answer those two simple questions?I also think as an ex policeman, he made a few judgemental errors that seem rather odd and who had also attempted suicide (not sure if this was while they were looking for Caylees body, or when they had found all the evidence)
Does anyone know before i check again, if Cindy spoke to Casey to say she was going to ring 911?? did she infact get in touch with her daughter to say LOOK I'm about to call 911.

Not a direct answer to anyone in particular but until six weeks ago Casey was still touting the Nanny abduction. Her parents desperately wanted to believe that - they'd already lost their grand daughter and now their daghter was about to be tried for murder.
Six weeks ago it came out that the story had changed - Casey was claiming it was an accident and her father knew all about it - the reason for all the lies is that George had abused Casey since she was eight years old. (Personally I honestly feel that is simply one more lie on top of the countless others)
Up until that point her mother and father believed her original story and would have done anything (including being sparing with the truth) to save their daughter from the death sentence - so yes I believe they may have lied in the past. Indeed George said at one time that he'd sell his soul to the devil to save his daughter.
Unfortunately I think the defence team (and Casey) have pushed the parents too far with this latest BS .......there are limits. IMO ...........that girl is rotten to the core and wouldn't know the truth if it bit her on the arse. I think we'll never know the truth.
That's my take on it anyway!
Thanks everyone^^^^ Soooo fwiw, what I make of all that.....Cindy was most probably distraught that Casey has upped sticks and suddenly disappeared taking her beloved grand-daughter with her, possibly thinking that she is somehow punishing her by not allowing her to speak to Kaylee, rather than she knows Kaylee is missing/dead....She maybe should have been suspicious earlier/have been doing more, especially as she was no stranger to Casey's lies, deceit and fabrications....
As for George, I'm still suspicious he knew more/had something to do with it.

You may well be right Soozy....but, if they were still believing the fictional nanny story, wonder how they were explaining to themselves the apparently unmistakable smell of a decomposing body in the car

I'm sure they simply just didn't want to believe it was the smell of their dead grand daughter and were happy to convince themselves it was the smell of rotting garbage. I don't know ...............it must be incredibly hard to accept that you're daughter is capable of murder mustn't it. You really wouldn't want to believe that even in your worst nightmare would you?

Absolutely not, but if my daughter was about to stand trial for murder, my grandaughter's remains had been found and I'd smelt a dead body in the boot of the car, I think even with the most unconditional parental love I might be starting to wake up and smell the coffee!

I quoted this post up there, and asked in that post if it is wrong please let me know. THEN i mentioned at another point about the defence may have said it also, and also said but i wasnt sure.
It may be gobbledygook, (my question on page 6) but I have put it in italic not bold.

Q=the defence are saying the little girl drowned, and the father and casey found her... but what are they saying happened after that up to the point of that meter guy finding the remains in a bag with her blanket etc ??? What did they do with the body, and how did they not know what happeend to the body after they had found her drowned???
The answer i received
The defence were implying that it had been left in the trunk of the car, her white car, but when her father picked the car up he said he threw a bag from the trunk over a wall into a dumpster
God almighty, no wonder half the jury shook their heads and sat looking at them like they were mad! they must be to lie their behinds off about NOT knowing the body they had put in the car was the bag they had threw over a wall into dumpster!!!!!
If i have this wrong please can anyone explain, thanks "
So i had spoke to someone who said they had this answer,(it was the wrong answer) and i had asked if it was wrong, and i didnt get a reply.
Just to clear it up , like
Bliddy hell Ev, you`re like dog with a bone!
Ok , here we go...
You gave me the impression you`d read it from somewhere official and it was fact. That`s why I asked you where you got your info. This is just from someone you know with an opinion but no facts.
I wish I`d know that. I wouldn`t wasted my time going back and forward with this shoit!
I can`t even fathom out what that bolded part means. It`s all gobbledygook to me.
Anyway, that`s it for me - over! I can`t be bother with any more amauter sleuthing, speculation or guess work. I`ll stick to the facts - thank you very much.
Byeee xxx
lol Bye Scotty xxx
But Before you go, My first impression was not fact, but from someone like us who answered my question. I actually said at first it was from someone, who had thought it was correct and not fact at all.
I quoted this post up there, and asked in that post if it is wrong please let me know. THEN i mentioned at another point about the defence may have said it also, and also said but i wasnt sure.
It may be gobbledygook, (my question on page 8) but I have put it in italic not bold.
About Facts
I know we have both got at least two true facts wrong on this thread and we both also admitted to it on here when we got them wrong.
So i was just answering a post from you today Like the bone that it is for you
xxx
I`ve just read back the thread and I could quote you and refute most you said up there, but I won`t.
I`ve been following this case and "looking forward" to the trial for nearly 3 years.
Now that it`s started....
I don`t intend to spend my time on here argy bargying points with you Ev.
I suggest we both put a sock in it.
Over and out! xxx
I live in Orlando and have been following this case since it was reported on the news here that Cindy had called the police to report that Casey had said Caylee had been missing for a month and that the trunk of Caseys car smelled like a decomposing body had been in there.
I have seen all of the news reports, Casey being refused bond, the defence trying to get the case tried before a body had been found, the lies told by Casey, the Anthonys home going into foreclosure, George attempting suicide, tapes from prison phone calls.......
Many, probably most from here assune Casey is guilty of murder but as I see it, and without wishing to seem discompasionate, the facts are as follows:
Caylee is dead.
No cause of death was identified by the coroners.
Casey is a proven liar.
Casey was culpable in the death, either by negligence per defence or murder per prosecution.
Casey partied after Caylee died.
Casey covered up the death either with the involvement of George per defence or without the knowledge of the grandparents per prosecution.
The truth lies somewhere between these lines.
This week we will see:
Cindy on cross examination
Lee Anthony trying to persuade the judge to allow him to be in court throughout the trial (like Cindy and George)
Lee Anthony on the stand
Prosecution detailing police evidence of their investigation into the disappearance of Caylee.
Thanks Roxan.
With Lee now wanting to be in court with Cindy and George, it looks like the Anthony`s are putting up a united front.
Should be an interesting week.

Does anyone know what time kick off is today?
Scotty said it is starting at 1.30pm today.
ahhh. thank you , I have an hour then to finish watching the mum from the last day.
ohh and just something ive noticed, does anyone else think the woman for the prosecution sounds just like kelly mcgillus sometimes? Ive been having it on in the background and when you dont look at her, she sounds just like her.
Court has resumed.
Hi Summer. Lee Anthony (Casey's brother) has filed a motion, asking that he be allowed to sit in the court throughout the trial, in the same way as George and Cindy Anthony are.
The lawyers are discussing it now.
