Ashleigh obviously doesn't... you'd think it would have SOME effect if she did..
I started to watch but as soon as they mentioned lobster I had to pull out, I hate the thought of what happens to them while still alive
What is wrong with Sara ,she was a tad touchy in the clip ^^^.Seems Sara has gone off Deana.

I thought that - Deana made a good point asking if she would become vegetarian because of her dislike of animals being hurt when killed - Sara fair snapped at her insisting she would still eat meat if it was killed humanely to which Deana replied that we don't always know how animals are killed for meat and that's true I think Sara has flip flopped over to the dark side again

Erinp, it seems to me that Deana is repeatedly picking at her, challenging her and trying to call her out, I'm not surprised that she's gone off her
Much is made of Sara shaking her head when Deana goes on about Sara becoming a vegetarian. That's exactly how you behave when you know someone (especially someone you thought was a friend) is trying to goad you.

Plus she seemed to eat mussels, which are cooked alive - that's why she wouldn't eat lobster Lobster not always cooked alive either, they are often killed before they go in the pot. Don't think I'd try brains though, I think it's just the thought of eating a brain, squeamish!

I used to love it too Sooz, was unfortunate enough to hear the high pitched noise they make as they initially go into the boiling water, never again could I eat it,never.

I believe that is actually the air escaping (bit like a kettle whistling) - I don't think they actually scream. I'm sure it's not very nice but it's the same for any animal killed for food really.
don't most places freeze the lobster or other crustacean which numbs them before they whack them in the pot????
Mr Woo puts a knife in - in a sort of critical area - I don't know _ i don't watch - I copied this though.
Some cooks are concerned about humanity issues of cooking a live lobster. In fact, research indicates the lobster has no central nervous system or cerebral cortex to register stimuli, thus the creature mostly likely can feel no pain. However, killing the lobster just before cooking is the preferred method.
There are several ways to accomplish this. Putting the lobster in the freezer an hour before cooking will do the trick. Quicker yet is to plunge the tip of a sharp knife straight down right behind the lobster's eyes.
