He's my all time favourite!  I'm gonna be gutted!

In fact, I've vowed not to watch that episode until after the new year, or it will ruin my whole Christmas

I am intrigued to see how the new one does though. And to be honest.... I miss the Amy and Rory partnership with this Doctor. It's just not the same with Clara. So its probably the right time for him to go (despite my broken heart).

One of my oldest friends really likes him too. For me it is either Pertwee or the magnificent Baker.

The graph below illustrates my liking for each Doctor since Baker.

Of course it's a bit tongue n cheek.

Then I shall keep my fingers crossed that the new one bucks your trend EC

I'm not a dedicated Whovian by any means. Watched it as a child..... dipped in and out with the new ones, but got seriously hooked since Matt Smith joined.

So much so that I'm off to watch the 50th anniversary in 3D at the cinema.  Much to my son's disgust (I'm dragging him along)

What a shame. I would have loved something like that as a kid. Hope you have a great time Ducky.

He's 21 EC

Still a kid in my eyes though

This probably says a lot about me, but even at 21 I would have loved it

Oh my god Yogi. I'm going to be properly traumatised.

Mind you, I thought that when David Tennant regenerated. It lasted a whole split second, and then I was all ooooooooh over Matt Smith

I may be a bit fickle

I was the same. I was dreading Matt taking over from David, but he won me over in a trice.

Cheers Ducky.

Here is a very arty limited edition print being sold by the BBC. There are only 100 of them!

My desktop background at the moment.....

See the leaves at the bottom. I've been plagued with leaves at the bottom of my windows screen for days, and I've only this second realised where they came from

I thought Windows 8 was going all autumnal on me.

*ahem*

What about me??? I loooove him too you know! We could wibble together!!!

I also agree with you about Amy and Rory... it hasn't been the same without them and I think Clara has made it easier for me to let 11 go...if she was to suddenly announce that she was leaving, I would immediately start stalking Matt and force him to stay on...stuff Moffatt and his storylines..this is Dr Who, anything is possible!

I am looking forward to P.C. taking over though, I reckon he will be splendid! And on a totally girlie note, I can't wait to see what he is wearing!!! I hope it's a kilt. Please let it be a kilt.

I liked Amy, but found Rory a bit wet and not a trait I enjoyed watching. As far as Clara goes, I don't think she has found her feet yet - give her time.

When it comes to the kilt, don't confuse the actors nationality with the character he is playing, not that he could'nt wear a kilt, but I think they would need to be careful with the camera angles

I was very happy with the new doctor selection and hope his 2 year tenure will be a good one (fingers crossed he gets better scripts as some of the last couple of years have been poor at best).

Nooooooooooooo! The David Tennant one is the 50th anniversary one! The one I'm going to watch in 3D!

David and Matt... in 3D...together. I may just die of pure joy

*ignores Baz's insulting comment about Matt.  She liked Darnell, she's known for her bad taste*

I wasn't confusing the actor with a role...just putting in a girlie request! I'd quite like it if he was Scottish, why shouldn't he be?! Just because he hasn't been yet, doesn't mean he can't be!

And...I love Rory...his character was the perfect antidote to The Doctor and Amy. The Ponds were fabulous and bought a whole new side of the Doctor out. I'm hoping that Clara has a bit more chemistry with 12, she just always felt a bit too detached from it all for me....as did Martha with 10. I'm hoping that has more to do with the writing than the character...I am looking forward to seeing how she interacts with 12.

4 was my first Doctor but he scared the crap out of me!! 5 was MY Doctor as a kid, I adore him still and 11 has been my favourite ever Doctor...he is just how I imagine the Doctor to be. I can't wait to see where 12 ends up in my rankings...5 and 11 better watch out!

I really really loved her at first! When she was the dalek girl and the victorian nanny. Then as soon as we got the "real" version, it all went a bit pear shaped. A very bland pear.

5 is Peter Davison, 4 is Tom Baker!!!

MrsB

2 was Patrick Troughton and the main companion I remember was Frazer Heins - who wore a kilt - 'cos he was a highlander plucked from Culloden. There was a female companion at the same time, I can't remember much about her (I was pretty young then, after all. Young enough to hide behind the couch from the Daleks! ) except that she was a bit of a drip!

Hi MrsB.

Yes, I understood your girlie request  my response was probably a bit ambiguous. But don't get me wrong I have no problem if he was Scottish, it's just that I don't see the doctor as having an earth based identity given that he hails from Gallifrey (which does have a Scottish feel to the name).

I believe that he will keep his Scottish accent and why not, if the series was looking for consistency all doctors would have used the same accent.

It's a bit like James Bond. I love the films and tend not to be concerned that the accent changes with the actor. Sean Connery being my favourite with Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan next.

P.S. I know Sean C is not liked on here, but in terms of Bond for me no one can touch him.
