I can't stand it, I find it so immensely dull and far too commercialised. Getting all that money just to play their hobby Shake Head They should get a proper job and play football on their days off Nod

Its also the 'chavviest' sport going. Honestly, ask any chav what their favourite sport is and they'll ALWAYS say football. Its like they don't know of any other sport.

Rugby on the other hand is tops! Thumbs Up Big Grin Ninja *runs*

Well if eye-gouging, fake blood capsules and failing drug tests is your idea of entertainment then by all means enjoy your rugby. I prefer a game of skill.

Doesnt happen in rugby league...and football players do fail drug tests.
I agree about rugby league but we've got the middle class version of the game down here, but footballers in the Premier League very rarely fail drug tests. There could be several reasons for that.... Ninja

What about football fans, who break into fights in pubs, streets etc. All because their 'precious' team lost. Roll Eyes Its pathetic, You rarely hear of it in Rugby.

I love it!!

I enjoy watching on the telly, but my biggest love is supporting my own team and not one of the big premiership teams.
Going to a match and watching your team score a goal is just such a great buzz.

I used to like that. But another thing with football is it's so hard to come from behind, once the first goal is scored that is virtually the game over. Two goal lead and you might as well leave the ground, match over. It's a bit too defensive in that way.

Also referees have too big an impact on the game with sending offs (I prefer to see teams of equal strength playing each other and the individual being heavily punished) and penalties (often dubious).

Yes! I love football.
I went to a football playing school, where we actively resisted the new games master's attempts to introduce Rugby.
The reason why Football is awash with money is down to the market economy and the fact that people are prepared to pay ÂĢ50 a month to watch it on the tellybox, as well as pay four times the going rate to attend.

I love my footie and couldn't give a monkey's about rugby, apart from the Six Nations.

Rugby league's the worst - their fans can't seem to let anyone else enjoy their own favourite sport, whether that's union or footie, without banging on about how much better RL is.

Far as I'm concerned, it's a minority interest confined to a few towns in Yorkshire. And it can stay there.
