I laugh more when it is wholly inappropriate to do so!

I laughed at a funeral once. 'Who puts the fun in funeral?' etc, etc. Highly embarrassing, but as someone who once did something famously said, 'When laughter pulls up it's chair, there's nothing you can do about it.'

I was giggling at my own fathers funeral. It's a nervous thing and I too got into endless trouble at school for it.
I put my hands up and say I was in stitches with Rodrigo last night ....just soooooooooooo funny. I really felt for him.
I'm still giggling as I'm typing this.

I went to see the new harry potter last week. When ...........ooh the 'sad' bit ( for those who haven't seen it) someone made a funny noise sounded like a stifled cry, I got the giggles so bad i couldn't breath, everytime i tried to calm down my friend would start up again untill we had tears running down our faces, then i thought people would think i was crying at the film which set me off again.
I used to get in trouble for doing it at school too ......... that was mainly cos i used to spend most lunchtimes getting stoned though.

The worst thing in those cases is making eye contact with someone else and realise that they are trying to hide a laugh as well and it sets of a chain reaction

I was on jury service and a witness took the stand and when he spoke he had a terrible lisp, the guy sitting beside me started to laugh and i tried my best to keep it in till it was painful, the judge was furious and we got a terrible row. It wasnt the fact he had a lisp it was just the tension and the silence

When I was at school a boy in our class died and we went to the cremation and my and my friend got the giggles when the coffin went down
I feel awful now - I hope his family didnt see but i dunno maybe we just didnt know how to cope with it as we were only abot 12
It was awful, i tried nipping the inside of my thigh to stop myself, i was sweating and my stomach was nearly exploding we were told to leave the court and was warned about contempt!! I just couldnt get a grip at all !!quote:Originally posted by Soozy woo:quote:Originally posted by Skylark24:

That is just so funny. It must have been excrutiating.

Laughter and tears are very closely connected in the brain and therefore can get mixed up from time to time.
My uncle is a doctor and when he has to give bad news to patients or their relatives he has to consciously stop himself from laughing and often feels like crying. He says they are very similar responses.

This is what I can be like and the more innapropriate the situation, the worse I get!
I have never been jailed for it though.
