I do get a bit 'opinionated' at times.  Fair point but then again, it's a forum and we all have our 'opinions' on matters.  But I wouldn't call myself a 'Labour fan'.  I'm not a particular fan of the last government.  It did a load of things I didn't agree with.

Although I would call myself a Labour fan. I'm a big fan of the party and all it stood for. I also liked the WEA and the idea of self improvement. Alas! That's all old fashioned. Unless Ed is going to bring back socialism, or something with a faint hint of socialism, then that's our lot.

They stand as the least worse choice in a crowded middle of the centre right.  I find it difficult to get fully behind them as there is an essence of truth that their policies helped make the banking crisis worse and they would have had to apply cuts, Many of those cuts would have hit the poorest. Their dubious record in office suggests that they might have spared the middle classes at the expense of the poorest.   It's difficult to forget that when they were in power they abolished the 10pc rate to give a tax cut at the standard rate and they introduced tests for DDA that were almost as bad as those of the coalition.  Then there's the Iraq war.  Of course, they did many good things too but Ed has a lot of work to do and may not be up to the task.  But better him than another Tory minded motivational speaker like Bliar, Clegg or Cameron.
