What I mean by that is, I always watch Robson Greens Extreme fishing but I never go fishing and have no desire to take up the hobby, and I sometimes watch programmes about houses , building houses, redeveloping houses but I hate building work and DIY, I love DIY SOS. I even used to watch the programe where they did peoples gardens up with Titchmarsh and I hate gardening. Why do I like these shows?

I think the likes of "Ground Force" and "Changing Rooms" were just compulsive viewing for me when I was little
I watch Nigella's programmes but I'm no Domestic Godess.
I watch IACGMOH but ......................I'm not a celebrity.
Seriously though I do have a load of cack on as background - wouldn't say I actually watch!
I have Gems TV on a lot and say (quite often) oooh that's nice - it goes in one ear and out the other with my OH.

I bet you're way more of one than her the cheating bint. I remember a really funny thread on the old C4 forum about her shows where she supposedly cooks, takes the kids to and from school, does all the housework single handedly in her huge house and still has time to write cookery books, plan and host a drinks party and look like a yummy mummy.Oh I forgot in the show she also helped the kids with their homework while doing a tv show and baking chocolate biscuits for a friend going through a break up!! All in the same show
Bet the Nanny. housekeeper, tweenie and all the other staff were off camera gnashing their teeth

In answer to your question Pooly, No. We very rarely watch tele in my house, it's only on if there is something one of us really wants to watch.
