Do we judge the HM's to harshly?

I am as guilty as the next, so I am not getting at anyone.
We write our opinions on each of the hm's and in doing so, at times, call them childish, stupid, blind, liars, game players and worse.
However, do we sometimes forget that they are in an enviroment that is not natural.
They are being manipulated by BB and if something bothers them there is no distractions such as televisions etc to get there mind off things. Should we cut them a little slack if they get annoyed about butter.
But having said all that Lisa is still a cow and Bea is a witch.
Way to go Marcus.

It's more about Endemol manipulating the audience. From the VTs onwards.

I'm not sure we would be so harsh in RL. But this IS BB. They go in, and we judge them. It's a game after all.

If I was foolish enough to go into that house, I would expect all sorts of things levelled at me. Even poor Hira who hasn't done anything wrong will get accused of things. The main one being she doesn't do anything!

What we see is only what Endemol allow us to see. Even so called LF is NOT live.

It's a TV show and one filtered through all kinds of bias, and yet people judge it like it is real life and like they actually know the people.

I just think that we sit and analyse every little thing they say and do. Argue about if they meant it this way or that. Throw away lines are disected and we come to the conclusion on what we perceive was meant.
But somethings can not be hidden or misunderstood.
Bitching and backstabbing are prime examples.

Yes I do think we judge them too harshly.
Feelings about a particular housemate can be so strong that we see posts using extreme language, and sometimes downright lies, in order to support or condemn them.
I have often had the feeling that housemates actually take the whole thing far less seriously than many viewers do.

Endemol promote HMs as stereotypes which helps promote an exaggerated response sometimes fed by prejudice.

We are simply playing our part in the gameshow. My part is to slag Charlie off at every available opportunity, but I'll do the same to Lisa and David , should there be a lack of Charlie threads available

Thank you all for your input.
I do not feel sorry for the HM's, after all they went in there to feed their ego's voluntarly.
But I do think that sometimes we get a bit wrapped up in what is after all only a television show, and a very poorly produced one at that.

The HMs are complicit in it in that they at least partly fulfill the roles that Endemol want from them. However there also tends to be a bias through the show as well for some HMs and the hatred is carefully ratcheted up for more phone votes.
