If she is up against any housemates apart from the other females (ie Siavash, Freddie and Marcus) - she goes home! Sophie versus 3 guys this week would be a massive win for Channel 4, they can line their pockets from a vote to evict a housemate generally considered inoffensive and boring! I doubt such a scenario arises too often so they must take full advantage of it.
At roughly the half way stage, the housemate most likely to generate some media interest this summer will be entering the public domain. Despite the lack of interest this year i'm certain that the tabloids and lads mags will take to Sophie. In fact, her Big Brother experience might just kick-start a successful glamour career for her, who knows!
I don't believe Sophie was offered a realistic chance of avoiding the public vote last week, or this. Big Brother knew they could never get her nominated through the regular process, because she is so popular, so they manipulated the rules against her - the same rules, that had they wanted, could have been used against Noirin, Lisa and others. I also question whether the tasks set to avoid punishment could have been passed. Big Brother study the housemates so closely; for instance, i bet they know how often Sophie swears in a day, i bet they even have a statistic informing them how often Sophie swears per hour of every day that she has spent in the house.
So, they have the ammunition, now all they have to do is present to the viewer that Sophie is the housemate to send home, or just as likely; Sophie is the housemate that wants to go home. The public will duly oblige, and the show moves forward..... and Channel 4 begin plotting how to get more money out of us.
