OK..the DIY is a misnomer because I have absolutely no intention of doing anything myself, but here's my dilemma...
I'm househunting.. I've seen a house I quite like.. EXCEPT.... it has ceramic tiling from the lounge right through to the kitchen. In the kitchen - fine. In the lounge.. er.. hello.. this is Scotland! Even in the height of summer I don't want cold tiles in my lounge.
So... they would have to be removed. Who would do it? A reverse tiler? Joiner? General building type person? I wouldn't know what to approach to quote - AND.... how difficult/easy would it be to make some kind of cut so that the kitchen ones could remain (for now)?
OR.. is it feasible (as has been suggested to me) to somehow lay a carpet on top of them? I know I'd need to take a bit off the doors and there might be a step into the kitchen - but I'd think the carpet might move through time?
Any ideas anyone?
