He did NOT laugh at all. You need to look at the video again, instead of inventing stuff.

He didn`t say it was a bit of pocket money TO HIM. He said it was like pocket money, meaning how low the amount of money is when your signing on. More or less extremley difficult to surive on. Which is true and David agreed...

The words YOU wanted him to say are not what he said but the meant the same thing, apart from YOU wanting him to refer to his "position" I take it a you mean privileged? Can you not see that?

This twisting of the conversation is nothing more than inverted snobbery, Lisa style.

It`s pathetic.

Well, he was certainly smiling with an inane grin on his face. Just because you like Halfwit, and I dont, dont try and make me believe what you want to believe he was saying. As someone else commented earlier, did you actually watch it. You pick me up for saying he laughed, when it might have just been a grin. And "more or less difficult to survive on" were not words he said and the way he spoke does not equate in anyway to him saying this!!!

I think he was trying to appear cool and "one of the people" by declaring he had been on the dole. As to "pocket money", I think he was saying simply that it wasn't very much. I actually think he was trying to appear sympathetic with people who have to go on the dole.

No idea? Bit insensitive but probably not meant in a nasty way? He did, tbf also say that he was looking for work whilst he was claiming. Anyway, all of this Freddie debating seems to be getting a bit unpleasant and personal on both sides: the fans and non fans so think I'll try and stay away for the most part!
He may not have meant it in a nasty way but he shouldnt have said it at all considering the current climate... Some people actually depend on that "pocket money"

I agree, its getting a bit personal...

Of course people depend on that "pocket money" that`s exactly what he was saying. He was referring to people having to live on that amount as derisory. He was saying it`s NOT enough live on. People picking up his wording of "pocket money" are getting it so wrong.

I despair at this twisting of what he meant. I really do.

Frowner Its so difficult at the moment. Im sure if he keeps trying he'll get something eventually, fingers crossed. My sons about to start uni and has been working part time in a chemists. He's hoping that there will be the same Chemists in the area of his uni so that he may have a chance of a transfer when he starts his courses to get a bit of money to see him through, but of course its very unlikely he'd be that lucky!
