I didn't see him make the comment but I've heard loads of people refer to 'dole' money as pocket money. And those who have tend to be on some form of income support/job seekers allowance and say that because the amount you are given is a pittance.
Fair enough you'll be given extra help with rent, council tax, prescriptions, glasses etc but it's really hard coping and trying to live on such a small income.
Not everyone who is claiming is doing so out of lazyness.
Anyway, I'm not even sure of my point now. Except to say that referring to dole money as pocket money is not uncommon.

I very seldom have a "row" on here,Im a very fair person imo. I did say it was awful to watch and very nasty when Halfwit was indeed being targeted at the start of BB10. I then started to like Charlie, who I have also now gone off. I said the other day there is only a handful of hms who I still like.
