How's this for a crap line up of TV channels after a recent reshuffling of Freeview channels?  I used to get around 50. Anyone else cursing Freeview at the moment?

If it's as crap as this after the switch-over I'll definitely be ditching Freeview.  Anyone have Freesat?  Is it any good?

Yeh I'm a freesat user.

I think there are more channels on Freeview than there are on Freesat.  However that is largely irrelevant if you're unable to receive them due to whatever reason (probably built up area or black-spot).

That being said, Freesat does have a decent range of channels which seem to increase fairly regularly.  At the moment Freesat has 5 HD channels, versus Freeview's 1 HD channel, so this could be a deciding factor.

The good thing about Freesat is all the channels are perfect reception quality.  No mucking about with aerials and the like.

Setting up freesat is simple if you already have Sky.  Just plug the cable into a spare outlet on the satellite dish (usually there are 2 spares) and away you go.  Not so straight-forward if you're not an existing Sky customer.  Without the correct know-how you'd need a professional to fit and align the dish correctly.

Pros and Cons with both platforms.  It comes down to what you prefer, and what is physically possible (reception quality).
