I have been to SW numerous times and hate to admit that I really do NEED to go to group if I want to stick with it.  I just really hate the groups.

Supes, that's my new plan for tomorrow.  I am going to do a combo of 5:2 and SW.  2 fasting days and then the other 5 based loosely on SW and I'll see how I do with that.  I am pants at cooking but can do basics like roast dinners, lasagne, pastas etc so not too worried about the cooking part at the minute.  The butchers near here do a lot of SW meats and ready made stir-fry's etc so I really have no excuse......just greed!

Must admit I have been to groups in the past that I hated too Ells and have left because of that. I really think it depends on the consultant and I'm really lucky this time to have a young woman who is bright, vibrant, fun, enthusiastic, a good laugh and slim, (I know that shouldn't matter but somehow it doesn't cut it for me when the consultant is not doing that well on the plane themselves!)  I'm also lucky that most of those who stay to group are really nice, so it's no hardship staying, I quite enjoy it and I do think it makes a difference in keeping me motivated if I do.

amateur i did that in 3 weeks but it was christmas

sometimes i stop to class, other times i just weigh and walk, i sometimes run the shop and do the certificates so that makes me stay

staying to class does help, you get some great ideas, i just don't like all the happy clappy bit its just the time it takes, especially if you have a big class, going through everybody's weeks, i would be happier if she left me out of this bit, particularly lately

I was a bit I know I look bad at the minute but not that bad I've suffered with anorexia in the past and having IBS doesn't help, if it's not leaving one way it's the other I'm eating so much at the moment to try and put weight on its draining

Think I will have to take this route I've never been a food lover, can remember sitting there as a kid being threatened if you don't eat your dinner your not playing out and hours later I'd still be sitting there, I don't even like chocolate

Oh Aimee, how awful. As Jen says, speak to your doctor. He should run some tests perhaps.

p.s. you neighbour sounds like one tactless bi@tch! w.t.h.?

I made a couple of 'cheesecakes' this week, (made up SW friendly recipes,) one savoury dolcellata, and one sweet 'yorkshire curd' Both yummy and could't have been easier. Yes, I'm looking at you Ells

Savoury Blue Cheese Cake
Serves 6 as a starter/light lunch or 4 for supper 13syns
150g low fat cottage cheese passed through a fine sieve

150g low fat fromage frais
50g light soft cheese with garlic and herbs (4 syns)
50g Dolcellate or other strong blue cheese crumbled (9 syns)
3 eggs
3 finely sliced spring onions
Handful of chopped chives
Beat cheeses and eggs together, add spring onions and chives, pour into an ovenproof dish and bake for 30 mins @ 180 degrees centigrade

Yorkshire ‘curd’ cheesecake
Serves 6, 4 syns per serving
150g low fat cottage cheese passed through a fine sieve

150g light soft cheese (12 syns)

3 eggs
Finely grated rind of a lemon, an orange and a lime
75g currants (12 syns)
2 tsp vanilla extract
Â― tsp mixed spice
1tsp nutmeg
25g powdered sweetener
Beat the cheeses with the eggs until smooth, add the rest of the ingredients, reserving Â― tsp nutmeg. Pour into a tin, sprinkle with remaining nutmeg and bake at 180c for 30 mins

I counted the soft cheese as my A groups, rather than syns, so scoffed loads for minimal syns. And can't say I missed the pastry/base a single bit. Had the blue cheese one with a big rocket salad and pears in balsamic, that was yummy too

One of our members is a 'little N Yorks village' butcher, who is now doing 'syn free' sausages. She really does need some marketing advice 'cos they're bloody gorgeous. Made a sausage pie tonight with the leek ones: took out of their skins, mixed with two shallots, a couple of eggs and covered with finely sliced par boiled potatoes and loads of black pepper then baked for half an hour. Bloody lovely. And have boiled some eggs ready to encase with the rest of the sausage meat tomorrow morning: roll in egg then couscous, spray with frylight and bake: I love a scotch egg I do

No, I'm not a fan of 'ready meals' and certainly not Iceland ones! Nor do I have an Iceland anywhere near me. However, if they get great reviews, then I might try take to work for lunch

FM

No, I don't like ready meals either, but apparently SW have been working on these meals for 8 years and with other stores who tried to cut costs by using cheaper ingredients so they kept backing out, they are very happy with the quality of the meals sold in Iceland.  They are ÂĢ3 each which IMO is a bit steep but the portions are supposedly big enough for 2??

barney

Well done on all the losses!!  Supes, your meals sound gorgeous, I might attempt one at some stage lol.  We also have a slimming world butcher (quite a few actually) nearby who do lovely syn free or very low syn foods.  They're five for a tenner so I usually get the big pack of sausages, scotch eggs, beef stir-fry, peppered burgers and mince.  I've started using only SW meats for the whole week now instead of normal fatty meats.

I haven't been doing SW.  I've done the 5:2 diet for 2 weeks now and am 6lbs lighter.  It is so much easier for me and I've finally got my partner doing it too which is an achievement in itself!!  The first day was ok, 2nd was awful, but after that it has been much easier and if I plan out my food the night before it is so much easier to stick with.  It's a slower weight loss diet but I think it's much more suited to me.

Ells
