I don't see why the taxpayer is being expected to stump up for any of this tbh. We're in the middle of the shit economically, things are only looking to get worse and in normal tradition the families pay do they not?

Added to that, the Queen and her sprogs are hardly scratching around to put money in the leccy meter.

I wonder how many couples have had to cancel their wedding plans because of cuts and redundancies forcing them into financial hardship?  The Royals chose the wedding, not the country. Let them bloody pay for it.

And if they don't want to stump up, then get real and either sod off somewhere quiet or postpone.

It may be a cost effective way of bringing some sorta hope and enjoyment, nay, fantasy and social control, to those who have had to bankroll the fat cats, the billionaire tax avoiders, London olympics and such. You know? That sort of thing.

I reckon everyone in the UK should boycott the whole bloody affair if the Queen's gonna be a tightarse. I've heard figures of 600million being bandied about in potential tourist and memorabilia revenue which of course would help the economy and be a substantial return on investment with a vast overage . But why the hell should Joe Public have to foot the bill of millions of extra pounds for security to ultimately protect a family who could easily afford to pay it themselves?

Our Government means test each and every one of us to see if we are entitled to tax payers money, why can't the Royal family be treated the same for this wedding?

For what it's worth, I'll give my bit of opinion. I think they are two people who have gone through the same shite as any of us, they separated and didn't like it, so got back together. On his side, he has to deal with hundreds of years of ceremony, on her side, she's a middle class girl (the very worst) and I hope that she will stick to her believes. Ultimately though, I don't care.
