Mollie, my jaw dropped when he said it. I was horrified by the complete lack of respect.

He was joking, he said she should be doing work somewhere and that she was lazy..considering she's in her 60's I did take it as a joke....

I thought the mingebag comment was directed at one of the HM's. The first part was aimed at his mother.

I thought it was hilarious - I'd like to bet him and his mother have a great relationship. Does no-one on here ever call their loved ones awful names in jest? I often tell my sister (who I love SO much) that she's an evil psycho bitch who should rot in hell. It's all good.

She wasn't exactly respectful about him either when she was speaking to David. If she was 'joking' then so was Marcus.

I also thought it was good on BBLB when she was asked if he still lived with her and she said 'Well no, I live with him' Kinda puts a different slant on all the 'saddo' comments, doesn't it?

I do honestly think marcus mum would laugh it off.

Marcus seems to be type that he masks what he really feels and his humour masks it.

I know is humour can be very close to the edge,but i honestly think deep down marcus is a decent guy,all that nonsence and talk from him is shocking at first,but then you realise half of it is not real.

He has said he brought himself up. I get the feeling he has now forgiven his mother but still harbours resentment that he cant shake, if that makes sense.
The fact he still lives with her, says he needs her, as she wasnt there for him in childhood. Hence his playing with toys, I'd imagine and his aweful language and I suppose his controlling of Noirin. It all makes sense now.

I don't know any of that stuff about Marcus's family. I do know that my family say stuff on a par with that all the time. Family unit is intact - and although to an outsider the words sound disrespectful, they in no way reflect the true feelings of the people involved. I happen to get the same vibe from Marcus, that's all. Different families, different opinions.
Mind you- if I ever said anything disrespectful to my mother in anger (as I did when I was a teenager) then, yes, there would be hell to pay, but that's a totally different situation.

i just watched that bit and i took it as he was joking. was something me or my brothers would have said to my mum tbh, in jest, and she would have taken it as it was intended.

I can't begin to pretend to understand the upbringing he may or may not have had. If that is the reason for what he said, then I feel sorry for him. I truely do.

However, if as many in this thread have suggested, he said it because it was him being humerous, then I'm glad I don't find him funny. That kind of language, particularly when directed at his mother, is not my idea of TV Gold.

He appears to be the one looking after his mother rather than his brother. He's very unassuming really and has been throughout BB even although it might not be obviously apparant.
