Plaster applied after direct pressure for 5 mins
Plaster put on tight and its done the trick.
its tingling - but no more bleeding for few hours now
But keeping plaster on for a few days

Saint, if the penknife was at all dirty, it is worth checking to see you are fully immunised against tetanus.

I had a blood test 2 weeks ago. My arm still hurts even though the massive bruise has finally gone

Off to hospital for tetanus and stiches. it coould have benn much much worse !!

Yes you do need a booster dose now and a second booster dose in 10 years time.
It's better to have a couple of seconds slight pain with a needle than get tetanus.
