Did BB make them promise to stay awake at night?

Did the producers look for housemates who would be prepared to stay awake at night.
Yes, viewers like to see some people awake when they get the live programmes at night.
But one of the problems is that the conversation, activity, events, behaviour is so
immature, childish, infantile and uninteresting - and loud.
And the nearer the winning post they get, the more anxious and intense they get, - and as a result the more immature, childish, infantile and uninteresting - and loud - they become.

Has someone twiddled their hair once too much or dropped a T too often for you?!

Anyhoo... I'm finding it particularly funny that JJ1's objection to his task, which he abandoned after 15 minutes, was that he couldn't stay up all night! Funny how easy he finds it right now horizontal with Josie!

They are being loud in the bedroom, shouting like kids on their first sleep-over.
I'd like it much better, if they were sitting somewhere else, with the lights on, talking at a normal level.
I can see why BB has had its day.
It all seems a bit contrived and desperate now.

brisket, maybe it's just me but I don't see why people who are wide awake and don't feel sleepy can't just leave the bedroom and leave people to sleep who need it. I don't get it. Is it all part of looking for airtime?

I stay up late as you can see but if I was in that house I wouldn't be in the BR keeping other people awake but most of them at different times and to varying degrees do exactly that. I don't get it. If you're not tired leave the f*cking bedroom.

I very much agree Prom.
This bedroom stuff is annoying and trivial usually.
I do agree about the use of the bedroom and other parts of the house.
It is common courtesy.
It may be a bit of childish giddiness, but, as you say, it is likely to be for airtime.
If that is the case they make very poor use of it.

One of the most annoying things when they're all hyper in the bedroom is there are so many convo's going on we don't hear any of them properly. In other rooms the cams can switch to whoever's talking, even if they switch to the boring one instead of the interesting one lol

I think is largely allowed for expediency.

By not making it an issue they allow the relationships to be strained by lack of sleep and cause the necessary arguments over it.

Also, the night shift can be covered by one editor and maybe one man in the camera run. The feeds are covered largely by remote cameras which require less monitoring and therefore editing by one or two people. If they were in more rooms that would mean too many screens for the editor to cover. IMO.

Xochi John J stayed there around 4 hours eventually. I wouldn't have bothered either staying 24 hours with someone I had a problem with, had to either stay awake all night or sleep upright in a chair, no thanks lol

In the HLs it made it out to be 15 minutes before he went to ask BB if he left would that part of the task fail too. I know he went back but didn't realise the poor love put up with 4 hours upright without Josie!

YR - I agree. I had sympathy for both John James and Rachel in their task.
I can understand why both found it difficult. (And so can BB

)

Xochi - I agree also. The sleep deprivation thing has always been a part of Big Brother hasn't it?

Brisket, BB knew full well they'd never last the task that's why they put them together lol. I understood both pov's that if either were to be evicted why spend one of their last days holed up in an uncomfortable room, especially when it's with uncomfortable company as they nominated each other lol

It's one of the things I've loved about BB. Make it as unreal as possible and make it into a Reality Show! Somehow that paradox works for TV!

I remember in previous BB's where they used to stay up until 4 am - prancing about in the garden and in and out of the pool naked or otherwise. That was when BB used to ply them with cheap booze all the time, hoping things would escalate and kick off. Which, of course, they did.
