I read that. Think i was more shocked he did nothing about it. It was a neighbour who alerted the police.
i guess he was scared about doing anything. i think he said he still loved her despite the abuse
I know that we all say we would never put up with abuse and hundres/thousands do but i really find it hard to believe that after being attcked with a claw hammer burnt over and over again and being paraded around like some kind of trophie, that some self respect/survival instinct did not kick in.
He wants to thank his neighbour, had it not been for he/she i doubt he would still be alive.

he probabley didnt want to anger her by telling anyone. i mean i dont blame him after seeing what he has already been through
This speaks volumes about both people don't ya think ?
how do u mean renton?
Not easy to tell anyone be it man or woman, plus men being treated like this are almost looked on as being laughable which is ridiculous abuse is abuse no matter who is doing it.
CHICKEN - well we have both people claiming to love each other yet she abuses him rotten and he accepts it
Now tell me a psychiatrist wouldn't have a field day?

Depends on your definition of love. Sometimes in these relationships love is defined by the word control and fear plays a large part in control.
Maybe some of you people who are passing judgement might like to read a little about how abuse works.

I agree Tupps, sometimes it's very hard when watching from the outside to understand why someone doesn't just get up and leave but it's not as easy as that, as I said in my earlier post sometimes "love" is defined by fear and control.

We talked about this in that thread that got pulled when the forum first opened. Lots of factors come together to make leaving difficult. Shame being one of them: which is even more difficult if the abuse is woman to man.
I can honestly say that if my OH physically or mentally abused me, i'd cut his wobblies off

I also think that the law is not on the side of abuse victims. If reported the abuser goes away for a very short period of time leaving the abused to worry about when the person is released.

Me too, but he's as soft as butter, bless him
But I don't agree with people who say abuse victims should 'just leave' - it's hardly ever as simple as that.
Just glad that she got banged up. What a horrible woman.
