I have exactly the same sort of dilemma in some rule-breaking situations.
One day I break the rules, and the next day I abide by them. Sometimes it depends whether or not I have a glass of wine or a gin. Sometimes it is just on a whim.

No not at all he did not want to but they were teasing him saying he was boring so he joined in and enjoyed it cant fault him for that it would have been worse if he would have stood back.
