Now this one really DOES hurt my eyes.  It's SO bright - it's horrible!

I'm sure they can turn the contrast down a bit, if this theme is chosen, but preserve the hues.

But black and grey was too dark and didn't give sufficient contrast.

Quite a lot of people found that the grey shades gave enough contrast, but others didn't and made their feelings very clear and did so very forcefully.  Now it's my turn to whinge about colours that I find don't suit my eyes

Sorry don't like this, it's so White and bright that it's too dazzling. It's making my eyes water!

Liking these colours today, far more easier on the eye

realises needs new puter. .this one looks like a very pale blue and cream to me..

yet the white writing on the greys was sparkling dazzling blindingly bright and unreadable on my screens.. very weird

Go back to the original colours - they never hurt anyone`s eyes as far as I know. 
Why fix it when it wasn`t broken?  

Most monitors have a brightness control, my hubby and I used to prefer different brightness settings.

Nowhere else though is bright so if i turn it down for here I'd have to faff about for other sites...and you can't do that seperately for other tabs

Yeah...throw the original backdrop into the mix for the final vote  

A darker border, but one which can't be seen through the pages will help mute the glaring brightness that some see, without interfering with the clarity that this one (7/12)  gives.

I've looked at this forum on four different computers today, and on every one, it's dazzlingly bright, whereas every other site I've compared it to is normal, so it's not a question of the brightness settings needing to be adjusted on my laptop.

Nope - don`t like the pastel blue either velvet 
Let`s go back to what we had before all of this nonsense - back to basics
