Actually I would say no. Personally I would go with possibly a rower or a cyclist. As for inspirational, again no athlete has ever inspired me and when I challenge people to give me three ways in which they have been inspired by a sportsperson, they struggle.

 

Although I was impressed by the way Bolt chose to party with the Swedish women's handball team than sleep.

Another vote for No! He is obviously the best and most charismatic athlete for years, but during my travels on the increasingly cycle festooned roadways I am yet to meet sprinters.

How long does it take you to cycle 100m though Carport? 

He has that little ounce of character that just says Jamaica.

What I mean is, even if he doesn't inspire you per se, I'm certain he'll inspire many other youngsters to emulate his achievements. 

Who is Judith? The answer is yes, no doubt about it. Every so often a pure freak of nature occurs and Bolt is one of them. He glides triumphantly, but as wonderful as he is, there have been many inspirations this Olympiad. Sir Chris Hoy and Michael Phelps are up there for me too.

And that delightful Saudi girl running in full hijab. Doesn't get more inspirational and significant than that.

One feels obliged to answer Judith's secondary question...... From a straight start between me on m'bike, Mr Bolt, and one of them dancing horses, I suspect that I would be still trying to get torque as Usain broke the tape. I would beat the horse assuming it was dancing to Radiohead. Anything longer and I suspect that I would be in Reeth as Usain struggled up the hill into Richmond. The horse might beat us both if it was galloping to the Chemical Brothers. We discussed this muchly tonight but wouldn't want to take anything away from the record breaking charismatic best athlete de nos jours.

I agree with Dame Ann's summation. Still don't see a Judith, must be one of those in jokes others were up in arms about.
