BBC Radio recently had a survey of the public's choices for Desert Island Discs. They have announced the results and the top 8 choices in order from the most popular downwards are: (extracts only for some of these)

'The public' have pretty awful taste, I'd go to a desert island to avoid hearing Bohemian Rhapsody and Handel's Messiah chorus
