Aww, you'll be fine. Good luck for tomorrow though. Hope it all goes as you want it to.
Good luck darlin, been waiting a long time haven't you? Lets hope all is sorted once and for all (not fake sympathy btw)
I hope all goes well for you, Demantoid.
Good luck Deman.
Good Luck Deman, hope it goes well.
Cheers - I have to ring my bone doctor after it's done, to arrange an appointment with him so he can check the results (and the ones from my scan) to decide what to do next.
Weird thing is, I've just also had a letter from ANOTHER consultant at another hospital, giving me an appointment for two weeks' time. I think certain departments aren't communicating with each other, doh...
I haven't even been able to get hold of them to query it, because the appointment line is either on answerphone (and not returning calls) or just not answering.
I'll take it up with my original consultant when I ring him after Wednesday's test, to ask if I really am supposed to see another doc or not. Considering I first took this problem to my GP in May, it's a bit late for them all to start fighting each other for a go at my joints now

She has recently decided to become tame, for some reason. Been out the cage without a muzzle and passed from hand to hand, and everything. Still likes hanging upside down from the bars though and still prefers chewing those bars, no matter how many nice chewy treats I offer her.
Well my auld bones are okay, had a full skull to toe bone scan,My vitamin D levels are on the low side,so I'm on Calcium/vitD tablets for life,I think.
Being a pale Scot disnae help!.Vit D comes with sunshine.

I really appreciate the good wishes, everybody.
Aww,sweet.I had "Elwood" at the vets a couple of weeks back, his pee was smelling really strong and poor little guy had dropped a lot of weight. With him being long haired I didn't notice it at first,it was one night I picked him up and could feel his shoulder bones and spine. Vet stated probably a urine infection.Anti-biotics for a week,he seems a lot better ,still feeding him up and watching his weight. He's a Syrian hammy so I do hope it's not diabetes.Which I gather is more common in dwarf hammies.
Good luck hope all goes well
Awwwwww, poor Elwood Glad he's on the mend now though. Isn't it awful when they're unwell?
You're right about the diabetes - that's what my last lot of dwarfies had, and it was heartbreaking. None of them lived to a year old.
This gang are made of sturdier stuff. They're all now a good 18 months old, and still fighting fit.

Thanks again
Good luck Deman.
I know Deman,Elwood is our fifth Syrian hammy. We got our first for my niece when she was 8.She's now 22 .When they pass, the cage is empty for maybe 4/5 days then we say "Right! Hammy hunt time again for a new lodger!"
Shit knows what I'll be like when the rabbits go,I blub like drain over the hammies.

I'm terrible when they die
Do you remember the nightmare I had before I got this lot? Two Syrians in succession who lasted about a week each, because Pets At Home sold them to me with wet tail
It took a couple of months before I was ready to have any more, after that.

I have to say "Elwood" came from Pets at home, only because the better pet shop had only chocolate and white banded Syrians in stock and our last two hammies (Milo and Merlin) had that colour.
Elwood is semi long haired with beige/fawn coat with brown cheek flashes.
I really think I will now source local hammy breeders with robust stock.

Demantoid, I wish you the best with your tests. Hope the results are good too hun.
This current indestructible lot of dwarfies came from Pets at Home though. So hopefully it was just a blip. They were very concerned when I alerted them, and reckoned it had to do with one of the breeders that supplied them.
Ah Deman,"Wet Tail" can be caused by stress, hopefully they will take note that a supplier is less than good.
