Sorry Senora  but I am taking your favourite song thread a little further.
What is your definitive album? I am listening to Abbey Road at the moment. To my shame, I have only just appreciated the Beatles in the last year and now I am addicted.
Abbey Road was the first Beatles album I bought (last year) and I can still remember the moment when I thought "OMG". It was a sunny evening, I was driving home from work in the countryside and Golden Slumbers came on.
I had to stop the car and just listen.....
I have never looked back and I have yet to hear a Beatles track that I do not love.

God, this is a hard one!  It's a tie between Marvin Gaye's What's Going On and Stevie Wonder's Songs In The Key Of Life. "Songs" is probably a lesser album in comparison to Innervisions but it means a whole heap of stuff to me.
I know... I mean Abbey Road is dear to me but I have other albums that are dear friends as well.

They're no longer around I'm afraid. They were a fascinating cross between punk and country and western with a bit of jazz thrown in.

I must admit I've never thought of Echo and the Bunnymen in those genres but certainly very difficult to pin them down to a specific genre. Certainly Doors influenced with a mixture of Eastern European musical influences is the best I can manage.

I saw them with him. However the web site seems to be down. Normally it has mp3 available. Maybe after that brief flurry they are no more?
I think it might be for the best. Their albums got steadily worse after the third one. They seemed to run out of ideas. Heaven Up Here is still the most atmospheric album I've ever heard though. Fantastic vocals and sparse creative music. I hated it when I first hear it . Now I couldn't live without it.

I love Tom Petty
Me too. I actually sat through the first half of the Superbowl a couple of years back just so I could see his half time show.

Must also mention the original soundtrack album of Jesus Christ Superstar with Murray Head as Judas and Ian Gillian as Jesus. Superb, amazing vocals from both.

Astral Weeks - Van Morrison-Legend has it he wrote and recorded the album in two weeks! Brilliant voice, birlliant lyrics, and the music is sublime. My favourite Track on the album is the album title, "Astral weeks".

Songs in the Key of life-Stevie Wonder Blew my mind the first I heard it...Absolute genius.

Exodus-Bob Marley -At his finest! musically, it's his best album.

Back to Black-Amy Winehouse-The best female voicalist Britain has produced since Dusty Springfield. I hope she sorts herself out and continues to make good albums-Favourite song on the album is, Valerie.

Alica Keys first album Songs in B minor-Brilliant love her cover of Prince's song, "How come you don't call me".
