A girl I once worked with was around 5.11, her husband was around 5.5., she was a big built woman who wore really flamboyant colourful clothes, he was the total opposite in build and his clothes were ordinary and safe I guess you'd call them but they were sooooo in love and happy that it made you feel happy just being with them as they say size isn't everything

Aww bless that's really sweet Yellow Rose You're right size certainly isn't everything People like that prove it doesn't matter at the end of the day Well I'm 5'3 and Dec is 5'6 I've heard, so that's pretty cool - I usually hate it, everyone thinks I'm 16 when I'm really 19 because I'm small and petite and have young face, but in this case I don't mind
Night fellow Dec Lover's

No that's fine- ask away
Ok, thank you.
I saw your post about your height and it came to mind you would be the perfect person to ask. My little girl is really small and petite, she is only 7 but the docs say she will never grow more then 5'2 without growth hormones. I dont like the idea but was wondering if it would be difficult for her to be so tiny.
So my question is, does it bother you at all? I am 5Âī7 and the shortest in my family and this is worrying me a little. She is very cute and sweet but gets picked on in class for her size.
Is this an odd thing to ask at this time of night? Sorry but I would really appriciate it to get an imput from you.

To add a little, I would have to put her on these hormones pretty soon for them to work and I am all over the place in what to do.

You're really one of the lucky ones who looks younger than you are, maybe it's irritating at times right now but believe me you'll be sooooo grateful for that when you're older night night, sweet dreams

That's no problem and I don't mind answering at all. I was lucky enough at high school to be in a position where it wasn't really an issue, as even though a lot of the boys towered over me, there were a few smaller girls too, the same height really. The only way it bothers me is that however petty it may sound, I do get treated like a sixteen year old kid when I'm 20 next February! I find some people to be patronizing and am getting sick of constantly made to feel like I'm still at high school, I have felt much more mature in a lot of ways over this past year so it's hard when I feel like a 19/20 year old inside and that gets overlooked to people who don't know better. That's what I find hard- then again I don't wear too much make up and I have a young face.
I'm really sorry to hear your daughter is getting picked on for her size, kids can be so cruel and your daughter sounds lovely, I am sorry you have a hard decision to make, I feel for you and understand your dilemma
I guess the answer is it doesn't bother me personally I wouldn't change my size if I could and at the end of the day, I appreciate that's my size and me, it's more how people see me, but then again as I said that's me and I look youngish anyway, sorry for long post, hope I have helped a little, it's not an odd thing at all to ask, You sound like a very caring mother and whatever decision you do decide to make I'm sure will be the right one for both your little girl and you

No probs Hope I can help you even if it's just a tiny bit
Darnell, thank you SO very much, it is of such help, really. I was very happy to see you would not change, even if you could, gives me all the more cause to think I should not put her on meds at all. I have an appointment with her doctor this week, I will ponder until then but actually, I think I might have made my mind up now with your very lovely reply.
Thank you thank you thank you.
And sorry for keeping you up.

Cinderella, hope you don't mind me replying also. I had a friend who had a son who was well below the average height for his age and also got picked on at school, school doesn't last forever, it's an interlude in life He was offered growth hormones and they decided to take the treatment because their main thought was that because he was a boy they projected what his future "might" be as a man.
You have a daughter and personally I don't think 5'2 is an extremely uncommon height ratio for a girl/woman, and women have the advantage of wearing high heels if that makes them feel more comfortable which men can't do. If I was in your position I'd want to know if growth hormones have any side affects on the daughter's health, if they don't and you feel they will make her feel happier in the future then go ahead but if you get any sense of the hormones interfeing with her health in any any way I'd stay clear. In her future someone will come along who loves her just as she is and not for her size
