Not every FM is IT educated.
Solutions have been given though Real.. and the thread in the Community Announcements section has info.. and if you still can't get in then just a PM to one of the Mods with your problem.
But it has been said by the techies in the know that if you are posting here then you can be over there.. because the log-ins have been transferred over to the LiveCloud site. This may be as simple as people choosing (in error) a no box rather than a yes box.
Dave said that log-ins from here have been migrated over to LiveCloud. So.. if you are logged in here.. now.. then you can log into LiveCloud.. because they are the same. All I did was go to LiveCloud.com and made sure I used the same email addy as registered here, same password, checked the yes box for existing user, chose an i.d with no 'illegal characters' (this doesn't have to be the same as your display name), chose a display name, filled in the 'Your Identity' info etc...

That's a bit unfair Real ... There are a number of stickies which deal with any problems which have arisen ... If people read these rather than run around like headless chickens, they might find some answers ...
I'm not having a go ... just saying that we have been kept informed about all the changes and, in fairness, admin have been quick to respond to any problems too ...

I spent hours putting my password in to no avail until I got back here and Ducky told me to ignore it.
If that is the problem tell them to click on the LiveCloud.com on the bottom of the page (small brown wrighting) and that will take them to the Cloudy Place.
They don't need to go to there to get on here.
Now I wish someone would tell me why my pc crashes when I'm here. I went through 47 pages of animated avatars today (and cooked the dinner) without a problem.

Shar I know what you're saying and I think the admin on here are great but I promise you I read every word of the stickies and the help threads and I just didn't understand a lot of it.
I know I'm not thick but there is a lot of 'assumed knowledge' when it comes to t'internet and its workings which goes over my head. I like this sort of stuff explained in a step-by-step way with no jargon.

Exactly what I did Tayto. Surely it's reasonable to expect a 'log in' page to actually take you somewhere?
I eventually figured out from reading other fms posts that I had to go direct to livecloud.com
It seems so obvious if you have that knowledge.
Subordinate clauses and modal verbs are obvious to me because that's my area of expertise but I don't expect others to 'get it' with only the vaguest of explanations.

I'm certainly no IT whizz skive and tbh I rely on getting advice from other FMs a lot ... I know what you mean about jargon and I don't understand many technical terms either ... A lot of the questions being asked though have already been answered ...

On Friday everyone had to log in here again saying they did have a livecloud account.
When you register over there the ID part will only accept lower case but it doesn't matter as that won't be the name that's displayed. If you type in capitals it will say it's unavailable.
The display name is the same as you have here as your account here is the same as there. It shouldn't be unavailable as it's yours.
I struggled with the postcode bit. It wouldn't take mine, my friends, my mums so I tried my sisters and it worked. Don't think it matters though.

I followed the link posted here, managed to sign in and be accepted under this Username. Replied to a messaage, clicked Send and got an error message that had about 30 numbers in it. Tried to copy them to bring here for clarification but there wasn't any option to do that, it wouldn't allow me to.
I've been a member of different types of Forums and their requirements over the years but this is really confusing me. If I can stay here that's where I prefer to be, I don't need blogs or Facebook type stuff etc.

From what I read once the switchover happens people will go to this page in thier faves and it will take them to the new place. All they have to do then is fill in thier profile and start posting. Or am I totally wrong?

I don't have a postcode and it let me into LC. It's still asking me for one when I go to my profile page but it seems it doesn't matter,
I have often used 0000 in postcode boxes and that works.

Theoretically ... I think yes Cagney ... although I think you would be wise to make sure you are registered on LiveCloud ... this forum once it is migrated will not look the same ...

Yes ... it did post ... when you get the error message, just press OK and refresh the page .. you should see it then ...
And hopefully the errors will be rectified soon ...

Sigs and Atavars - will they be carried over and if not how do I a) get my current sig over to LiveCloud and b) I have a photobucket account where my atavars and emocicons come from, will there be a way to link this account so as I can carry on using this facility?

From what admin have posted to date, it looks like the forum and its content will be moved over intact ... I take that to mean post counts, content, avatars etc. etc. ...
You can change your settings on LiveCloud to set your account to private ... In actual fact, it seems to be that you can control your privacy a lot more over there than on a forum ...

Yes Tayto. Got re-registered here with few problems. Just haven't tried out the LiveCloud site yet. Ducky has already told some of us the easiest route i.e livecloud.com
Haven't tried it yet, but will in the cold light of day!
