My gran spilt coffee over hers at one point and was told if it worked when it dried out then it should be fine. Hers didn't but yours seems to be ok.

Sugar is never good to get on your keyboard ................I've wrecked two like that over the years. I'd give it a rest and spray it tomorrow with one of those 'alcohol' sprays ....not talking vodka here. A stiff dry brush in between the keys might also help. GOOD LUCK!
Aimee, I don't want to worry you, but we know how effective cola is at cleaning coins and toilets.
It might be ok if it was just a small amount, but if not, Google "I spilled coke on my laptop". Plenty of techie advice on the subject, it's a common problem.
I hope it stays working for you though!

Aimee.... we have a room full of knackered laptops... most of them through spillages.
Hubbys pride n joy, his SOny Vaio was killed by my daughter spilling a can of fanta over it.
Best advice I can give you is to take the battery out. and leave it upside down and open... like a tent.
But if it wasn't a diet drink, and there was sugar in it... you are gonna have a sticky key problem.
There are places that does spillage repairs.
Tip what NOT to do...
Don't be tempted to use the nozzle of your Dyson on the keyboard.... that sucks the keys off

My last lappy broke due to beer spillage.
I've been told that compressed air - you can buy it online/Amazon is good for cleaning between the keys.
Good luck Aimee!
IF it is switched OFF and the battery removed its sometimes (well I know a guy who did it)
ok to WASH it in some WATER leave it to DRY properly use a hair dryer for ages and leave it for a day or 2 in a warm place, hair dryer again and try it,
worked for my mate and its better than bining it,

No... thats why you take the battery out... and unplug it of course.
Its the sticky keyboard thats gonna kill it AImee... it sounds like its starting to stick!
If the sticky keys get worse, then you may have to use a usb plug in keyboard with it.
Its not looking good.. sorry..
I feel your pain!
