I don't know if they still do those throat sprays, but I found them quite good, or gargling with soluble aspirin.

i must warn my FM chums that the radio Dr. doesn't like the idea of gargling with aspirin and suggested pineapple juice.

ION after the Coronation St. and University challenge part of the evening we watched the first half of "The Book Thief" Mrs Jer, who has read the book, reckoned it was a rather good transfer to film.

Thanks Sweet & GJ I resorted to the tried and tested method of gargling with salt ( saline solution ) and while I woke up feeling full of cold this morning I now have no sore throat , and my head is totally clear . It tastes awful , especially as I never put salt on anything ( except chip shop chips),  but it certainly seems to work ......

We set off for Gatwick straight after school on Thursday. We fly the following morning about 11. We like to get there in plenty of time
