It's been a bit crazy. Basically, there wasn't even going to be an apprenticeship this year (they'd struggled to get anyone decent to apply before, so were wary of trying again) then Duds offered to do 5 weeks work experience to help us out when our IT bloke was a bit snowed under, so then they asked him if he he'd be interested, he said yes, so they advertised the job.

Then they get other people applying who have IT qualifications and even though the job didn't require it, they gave it to someone who had "more relevant experience".

The things is, I don't mind so much about that. Fine, they decided to pay peanuts to someone who already had the qualifications...makes sense to get the best for your money I suppose. The thing that has REALLY pissed me off is that no one even said thank you to him on his last day. 5 and a half weeks of free labour when we really needed it and not even a thank you.

Then they made him waiting 4 days to find out.....and I strongly suspect they waited until term was over on purpose..... and they left it to some random office person to give him a call. The Head didn't even bother to do it himself.

I'm SO ashamed of the place

I also think they've made a HUGE mistake, cos Duds was brilliant at it....and for once things were actually being done right and on time (the other IT bloke has a serious problem with prioritising things correctly... )

Ahhh, sod em. Tis their loss.

But yeah he's fine. Disappointed, but he'll be fine.

That's exactly how I feel Baz

It hasn't been a total waste from his point of view though. He has a lot more confidence now, and has realised he can live through an interview process without dying a horrid and painful death

I'm gonna struggle to feel the same loyalty to the place that I did before though.

Yeah definitely Sprout. I was worried yesterday that this knock might just undo all the good, but I don't think it has.

I don't think it helped coming at the end of a very long, difficult, emotional term. But I'm not gonna let it ruin my hols! I've been waiting for this for a long time!

Mine was good thanks I didn't feel much like socialising ....had to force myself, but in the end I had a good time doing the rounds.

And I managed to bag myself a free weekend away in the Lake District, towards the end of August My sister and her boyfriend had rented a cottage and they invited me, Duds and Pops along.
