Yes, you guessed it. If he happened upon some horse manure he would stop the car, shovel it up and be on his merry way.

I remember my dad ...and the neighbours rushing out with their shovels if a horse passed by We never had a car until the 1960s ....

I'm going back to the late 70's when I was a kid and my dad had a Vauxhall Viva car in silver. Bizarre but I can still remember the registration !!!

You lot are making me wish I had a TV

I finally cancelled my TV license today, after two years of not having one  I kept it going, thinking that one day I may get round to replacing my old TV. Today it dawned on me that this is never going to happen

I'm giving my sister my TV cabinet/stand thing tomorrow. It's like the end of an era.

Because I just know I will never use it. Before my last one broke, it would only be on in the mornings while I was getting ready for work. I used to watch Doctor Who on the iplayer back then too I've never been a big watcher of TV, aside from Big Bro of course

I just fell upon it Baz. I would hope there is more as it was a good programme. BBC Four do some very good documentaries.

I think the next part is on the same time next week....
