The cleaning/fixing/whatever you call them contractors are in school now. The Art rooms have been dried cleaned and are open for business again from tomorrow. The Sixth Form block should be done by the end of term. The Science block is gonna take a while as everything needs removing, including the floor, and refitting from scratch. The Sports Hall may be ready soon, but it's looking more likely that it will need the floor replacing, so could take longer. The library is a 16th century listed building and has to be treated completely differently, so will take months to sort.

Things are manageable though We have a couple of classes in the hall each lesson, and one in the dining hall as well on occasion, and the kids have been brilliantly cooperative, so we can't complain

Oh ok I guess it could have been worse

slap wrists - you should not be peeking Baz. But if it is an iPad mini then that is one hell of a nice prezzie. As you know I just purchased an new iPad Air.

Are the any good EC. I was thinking of getting one

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Android device which I like and is why I bought an iPad. I use the Galaxy a lot and thought that I can now justify buying an Apple device. I have an iMac computer at home and an iPod Touch so I have a lot of Apple products. But yes I think they are good.

I was red mad on getting it but now am thinking of getting an Apple laptop instead

Either are good Moonie I had a first generation MacAir for ages.....loved it .....I've still got an old MacBook Pro ....but it feels very heavy nowadays

Maybe I will make up my mind when I go to the Apple store in Brum and get me mitts on one

If you know anyone who studies at college or university they get very good discounts on Apple products and you don't have to be a student to take advantage, but you would need their institution logon links. Or go to one of their learning centres and use their computer to purchase on the Apple website.

I have done it in the past and saved hundreds on my iMac.

thanks EC that brilliant info

Yeah it did Summer. We were shut on the Friday and Monday, but somehow managed to squeeze everyone back into the unaffected parts by the Tuesday. It's a bit chaotic at times, but it's working

The fire alarms are a bit of concern though. They keep going off at random times, and today they went off but you couldn't hear them in most parts of the school. I had to go round every classroom and tell people to evacuate because the alarms were going off. You could see people thinking "is she having a larf, what bloody alarm"

Yes, you guessed it. If he happened upon some horse manure he would stop the car, shovel it up and be on his merry way.

I remember my dad ...and the neighbours rushing out with their shovels if a horse passed by We never had a car until the 1960s ....
