It's s rented property and her landlord has been there today removing carpets etc. and promising her the world. So hopefully not too long! It will all depend on how reliable his promises are.

Getting it clean, dried and carpeted is the priority. After that the rest can be sorted while she's back in the house. She's lost all her furniture, kitchen appliances.... it's gonna be a while till she's back to normal.

You know, I haven't asked her that question... but I'd be very very surprised if she's insured tbh.

I know I could be wrong of course, but she's not the most organised (or sensible) person, and I just can't see her making that a priority when money is as tight as it is for her. Fingers crossed that I'm completely wrong!

Well otherwise there is always eBay and secondhand ?

Yeah, and we'll help her out too of course

Someone from the council went to see her today, asked whether she was ok with them putting her name forward to a few charities, so I think people are rallying round.

Awww that's great Ducky how is your mum's utility?

It's fine now It's right at the back of the house in the "unmodernised" part, so nothing much to damage.

I've seen a video tonight of the flood at the top of my mum's road, I can't believe it wasn't worse for her It looked so deep! Next door are going o have to replace their kitchen and bathroom, and the carpets throughout.
