Oooo I went and got a slow cooker last week, but had to take it back cos lid wasn’t fitting right ....and not replaced it yet ...couldn’t decide if it was worth it or not

the slow cooker is great...it's basically like having a casserole dish in the oven but on the kitchen counter...just bung everything in and leave it on for 6/8 hours on high/low depending on recipe..give it the odd stir and 'jobs oxo' as himself says 
I did a curry the other day once we had found the indian ingredients but it wasn't great just have to find the right recipe...I did a spaghetti Bolognese today all from scratch was lovely

I think it would be good for things like lamb shanks etc.

yep fires in northern spain apparently in retaliation to the votes there were arson fires near to here in guardamar someone was taken in by police but released I think!! who would want to light fires here deliberately...it's so dry obviously it would take hold
I remember those fires in the summer in Portugal...horrific people burned in the cars on main roads

Yes , I think there may have been deaths in these ones too Mind you none of them are as bad as the ones in California

but everything other than that I freeze to preserve -some raspberries in the freezer from the garden rather than waste them
