Smurfy, my brother leaving was one of the best things to happen to us, my mum & I got along so much better after and we decided that hassle he creates would never come between us again. 15 years later and we're stronger than ever, and he is still out there messing up in his own ways...

thanks for saying that sweetie cos i did try my best and am far from perfect but feel like i failed and as i didn't have a good relationship with my mum i wanted to give her encouragement and support as i didn't have...i am hoping that i will have a better relationship with wee one but you just never know how they're gonna turn out...this is going to be the best holiday ever better believe it

as little as possible myself...maybe start packing now that we have a spare room so somewhere to put the suitcases without having to negotiate round them oh yes and republic of ireland match himself will be glued to the sofa all day!!
wee one told us that her friends in school said that we would need our passports to get to dublin zoo and it would cost 300 euros cos of the referendum

That's an understandable and perfectly acceptable way to feel smurfy, you'll always be her mum. But I hope you don't beat yourself up over it, you are only human and you did your best. She chose to behave how she does, and you've given her a damn good home & upbringing, so you can be proud of that 
yeah baz that's also a risk...what a nitemare i'd want to kick myself in the head...she could have flown to vancouver in that time
