He's awful I read one of his a couple of years ago and wasn't impressed. I bought this one against my better judgement. I was a bit desperate for something new to read and was hoping I had misjudged him

Do you think Slaughter will develop any of  these characters into a series ....or will it remain a stand alone novel ?

are you talking Pretty girls or a different book?

Pretty Girls Ros Did you enjoy it ?

I have that but its not by slaughter which is why I asked -

Oh , it must be a different one then Ros .....but would really recommend the Karin Slaughter one ....I know you would love it too

Not again !

OMG

Yep, again.

Basically, after our Segway instructor told us the worst thing we can ever do on a Segway is panic - I managed to panic when going down a very steep hill.

I somehow forgot that leaning back slows the thing down, and started pulling back on the handle bars instead (which meant more of my weight was on the front which then speeds you up). So while hurtling down the hill at full speed, I panicked and decided to bail out, stupidly putting my right foot up on the wheel which made me lose my balance and fall off it backwards, landing flat on my back on the floor as my Segway rolled on down the last bit of the hill without me.

The poor lad following me down the hill then had to bail out too, to avoid driving over me with his Segway. Oops.

Probably wise.

We did hire bikes this morning though, and bike from Harrogate to Ripley Castle to Knaresborough and back to Harrogate - with no incidents excpet the odd wobble

And we rowed down the river in Knaresborough this afternoon without falling in.  I did have to hold the blokes hand getting in and out though. I think he thought I was a right wimp (I actually had to request the hand hold), but I wasn't taking any chances

Yes I went in thinking "I can do this".....only got about 3 words out before I was crying on the poor receptionist.

Anyway. It was definitely him (although I knew that anyway). They had kept him, but I didn't want to see him They offered me his collar but I didn't want that either. Then they asked me if I wanted his ashes after he is cremated and I refused that too. If it wasn't for the fact I was an emotional wreck, they would have thought I didn't give a stuff I just didn't want any reminders really.

They asked me if I was happy for them to pass my phone number to the woman who took him in on Sunday. I said yes that to that.

Anyway, when I spoke to her, it turned out she wasn't the one who had found him and taken him to the vet (dunno who that was), but she had gone to the vets thinking he may be her missing cat. Even though he wasn't, she stayed with him while he was euthanised, which was really lovely of her. We had a nice chat about it and it made me feel better knowing that someone was there with him.
