Yeah, definitely I thought I would be more comfortable being there once it was up.... but nah.

When I was down the local market the other day, they had a huge duck on display there. The body was a full three feet in diameter and the head about a third as big  the beak was at least nine inches long

I think it's a very personal thing isn't it? My mum decided to be buried because her mum was cremated and she hated not having somewhere to go. Maybe I will appreciate it eventually, but at the moment I can't imagine it.

Yep. It took a bit of juggling, but I got there

It's booked for his birthday morning, but to make sure we can be there on time I have now had to book an extra night away. I rang the kennels to see if I could drop Pops a day earlier and they had her booked in for that day anyway, so it's good job I did.  

Because of where the gliding club is, we're going to stay in Scarborough the night before his birthday and then after gliding, make our way to Harrogate. I bloody love Scarborough (lots of good childhood memories), so I'm even more excited now!

Now I just need to decide whether to tell him before his birthday, or try and keep it a total surprise. There are pros and cons to both of those, believe me

I have to say if I could have got him on the bus, I may well have had him  

It's a difficult one, trying to predict what the people left behind will prefer. 

Duds has told me he doesn't need "a place", and he doesn't seem to have any desire to visit my mum's and they were extremely close, so I think I'm safe. 

It's a massive turn around for me because I've always insisted I wouldn't be cremated as I have recurring dreams of burning alive. *shudders*
