I thought I would start a thread.
First to remind folks that this series begins on Thursday 11th (this week) on BBC3
at 9 0.p.m.
Secondly perhaps to use it as a thread for commenting on the programme.
The preview in the Guardian's TV Guide says that
"a nicely unpatronising tone is set by coach Brian Fortuna."
It looks promising.

What will they think of next? Oh and this is not meant to be rude or anything else about folk in wheelchairs.
It appears that wheelchair dancing has existed for many years. (I think the first world championships were in the 1970s.)
"Wheelchair DanceSport is a partner dance competition and dance-sport where at least one of the dancers is in a wheelchair.
Wheelchair dancing is a popular social and recreational activity, with more than 5,000 dancers in over 40 countries. The physical benefits of wheelchair dancing is to assists with the maintenance of physical balance, flexibility, range of motion, coordination, and it enhances respiratory control."

Thanks for that Brisket - I didn't realise it wasn't a new thing.
Here are the contestants:
Some of the celebrities had done some dancing.
But the wheelchair users had never danced before.
It's a knockout. Judges decide - not the viewers.
A dance-off between the bottom two couples each week.

This is a little bit from the background of one of the dancers - Diana Morgan-Hill:
"Diana is a double amputee after a tragic train accident 19 years ago â running for a train she went to jump on board and fell down the gap resulting in the loss of one of her legs. She then fell under the train, which went over her remaining leg and electrocuted her twice. Prior to her accident she ran a press and PR company. After the accident, she married, had a daughter and later divorced."

Thank you Brisket I will watch it
Apparently there was a very good interview on Breakfast TV this morning with Brian Fortuna, Diana Morgan-Hill and Mark Foster.
Unfortunately it is not on iPlayer.
But here is a little video showing Heather Small and her partner, Paul Jacob:

You're welcome Grannyg.
I saw from my TV Guide that at 9 o'clock 2 television programmes clashed.
I had to decide between Dancing on Wheels and What Katy Did Next on ITV2.
Dilemma!
It took me 0.0000000001seconds to decide. Sorry Katie Price - I'll not be watching you.

Hi Marg
Yes. Liking his attitude towards it. Not patronising.
Harry looked a bit scared of Michelle's breasts.
I love Brian Fortuna
I love how matter-of-fact they are all being!
I think I'm getting into this.
and Brian seems to know what he is doing and saying.
