Thing is, many of us are likely to have harrowing stories, are theirs any worse or better?
I was diagnosed with a brain tumour when I wad eight and a half. I was lucky in that I survived. At that age I didn't realise the seriousness of it. But I've never tried to garner sympathy. And I've always tried not to shove it down people's throats!
At the same time I'm not trying to belittle any individual's harrowing experiences.
