Although he is a non skater and starting from scratch in many ways, I don't think he'll ever reach the standard that the others already have

Do you think they get more training before the shows than they used to? I remember when they had to do step sequences, spirals and stuff in the first few weeks and they were all pretty shaky. now they all come on doing fairly credible routines in the first week.

Have they always had that? Maybe they train longer now or something - they're much better than week 1 skaters from years back.
