I'm sat here devouring cheese and bics with a glass of port. Never seen the reasoning behind Jan 1st dieting ........too much good stuff left over - Feb 1st for me!

hahahah.. I've got a box of After 8s and a glass of Merlot!  I'm not dieting, Sooz, I've just resolved to try to do more proper cooking than microwave ready meals.   I've never been big on cooking (as cheeky supes knows) and I'm not usually very good at it - I'm all chuffed with myself tonight.

Apologies for not joining you earlier but I went out for an early supper and ended up sitting next to.............EDDIE IZZARD    He had pasta and I had Saltimbocca.

He was with his dad and I was with Mr. Cosi, so all plans for elopement were suspended until our next meeting....

I shall watch the results show and pretend to be all knowing about who's good, who's dreadful and if it was the right person who got hoiked out tonight

Now here lies the problem .............................I do cook ...........and cook a lot!

Today we had a full English breakfast at 10.30 .......................then nothing until dinner at 6 - starter Parma Ham and Melon - then Roast Pork, Chicken, roast taties, yorkshire puds, carrots and peas, cauliflower, sprouts. I was very good and didn't do pudding for the grown ups but there was left over birthday cake and ice cream for my two grand sons and my mum.

Unfortunately the cheese and biccies came out at about 8.30 but it was accompanied by sliced up pear and grapes (and port).............soooooooooooooo - although very piggy - I did get more than my five a day!

Kaffy .............i do it every Sunday - Sunday Dinner has always been sacrosanct in my family (would be nice if someone else took a turn but) it aint ever gonna happen so I just do it - I'm a sucker for tradition and it is lovely to have all the family (almost) together once a week.

The guy in the shiny top was the worst (though it wasn't grossly bad) the female in the pink dress was one of the best.
