Johnson Beharry 'winning DOI vote'

A report has claimed that Victoria Cross-winner Johnson Beharry is winning theDancing On Ice popular vote every week.

Beharry is soaring away in the telephone vote, according to the Daily Star, despite finishing at the lower end of the judges' leaderboard each week.

A source told the newspaper: "Why do you think we don't reveal the voting figures? There are some big egos that are going to be dented here.

"They're throwing themselves around on the ice trying to win votes and yet it appears, no matter what they do, Johnson will be in the lead."

The insider added: "The risks are real, and there will be a host of stars now wondering if it's worth it. The one thing they have to cling to is that it's early days, but it seems Johnson is the one to beat."

'Comedy' Dave Vitty and US rapper Vanilla Ice, who have avoided the skate-off so far, are apparently struggling in the vote.

She's currently fighting to stay on the ice after narrowly missing the skate off on this weekend's Dancing On Ice.

But last night, Denise Welch had no battle getting a kiss from her dance partner as they attended a party for the show in London last night.

The actress was snapped cosying up to Matt Evers outside the Bungalow 8 bar where stars of the celebrity skating show had gathered for a party.

Gissa kiss! Denise Welch snuggles up to her Dancing On Ice partner Matt Ivers as they arrived at a party for the show's stars in London last night

Welch, 52, grabbed her ice man as they arrived at the bash and theatrically lifted her leg up round his as she reached up for a kiss.

And Evers, 34, was only to happy to oblige her as he grabbed her thigh and kissed her back, before they laughed and posed for the waiting cameras.

However, Evers was a distant memory by the end of the night as the Loose Women co-host was accompanied out of the club by singer Gareth Gates, who took part in series three of the show in 2008.

The Pop Idol runner-up put his arm round to Welch to steady her before being a gentleman and escorting her to her car and then home.

The show is only in its third week but six celebrities have already been booted off, including Elen Rivas and Angela Rippon.

But despite the gruelling training sessions that the remaining contestants are enduring to try and guarantee their place each week, that didn't stop them letting their hair down last night.

Welch, Evers and Gates were joined at the party by celebrity contestants Jeff Brazier, Chloe Madeley and Sam Attwater.

And former contestants also came out to have some fun including The Inbetweeners star Emily Atack, who was accompanied by her sister Martha.

Former Emmerdale actress Hayley Tamaddon, who won last year's competition, was also there with her former skating partner Dan Whiston.

Sam is way better than everyone else and I know i'm supposed to like him because he's good etc but I find him rather bland, in fact I prefer watching Vanilla Ice over him because IMO he is more exciting and has charisma.

I still can't see Johnson winning but if he does the producers will be kicking themselves that the supposed best skater didn't win.

I saw this tweet from Dancing on Ice and asked when it was & it turns out this is happening on Sundays show so it should make things interesting especially for those celebs who cant skate on their own

@DOI2011UK Ray, Chris & Hayley will return to demonstrate skills the celebs have to master - step sequences, spins & jumps in their routines #doi

This weekend, they'll be no more clinging on to their pro partner for the whole of the routine, going to be very exciting!

This weekend we begin the next phase of Dancing On Ice....

We start the ULTIMATE SKILLS TEST - everything the celebrities do for the next 3 weeks of the competition will now build towards this.

This will also see the return of 3 previous celebrity skaters from Dancing on Ice’s ‘Hall of Fame’ - Chris Fountain, Hayley Tamaddon and Ray Quinn.
They will each represent a specific skill (having made it their ‘own’ when they previously appeared on DOI)

Each week for 3 weeks, a new skill will be introduced into the choreography of the Skating Stars.

Week 1 (leading to TX5) is the THE STEPS (Hayley Tamaddon)

Week 2 (leading to TX6) is the THE JUMP (Ray Quinn)

Week 3 (leading to TX7) is the THE SPIN (Chris Fountain)

In TX5 AND 6, the weekly skills will most likely feature in individual routines, but they will not be specifically looked for and marked like the required element in previous series.  A celebrity will still be axed each week as normal by public/judge vote.

TX7 (week where The Spin is introduced) is also the week of the ULTIMATE SKILLS TEST, where the choreography for each routine will feature ALL THREE skills that the celebrities have been working on. In TX7, the inclusion & execution of these skills will carry significant weight towards the individual scores - eg each element will be worth a specific amount of the 10 possible number to be scored

For each of the 3 weeks, the new skills will be introduced in a specially shot VT by the relevant DOI Hall of Fame member – Hayley Tamaddon, Chris Fountain and Ray Quinn (they will also be in the studio)

The Ultimate Skills Test will be a real leveller of skating ability - no longer can anyone hide behind their pro partner, and they all must prove they deserve their place in the competition.
