Casey comes across as cold and unfeeling and annoyed on occasions in her video's, making me think even more so she is very disturbed mentally.
It was interesting how she said she felt more protected where she was, than being at home, when her Father mentioned he wanted her home. (something iffy about him IMO)
I think she may be found guilty, but not necessarily get the death penalty, just noted this when in talking with people from law, they mention she will probably get life. The death penalty for me is not an option i would want in any country if i had my way. You may as well go back to the dark ages, and chop their heeds off.
Some argue an eye for an eye, but arguably are you not making yourself as bad as they are if you want to kill someone, even if they have killed? Who would say you were any better than them then ?

Ev I totally agree with you about the death penalty. Not only is it barbaric but it clearly doesnt even serve as a deterrant.
Yes, and What about all those who have been sentenced to death, who at a later time were found not to have committed that crime. Just another thought.
Roxan To prove beyond reasonable doubt is a tough cookie to get the death penalty, and normally requires an admittance or dna evidence. Even if we think she did so, its just takes someone to have One bit of reasonable doubt. Is no DNA evidence all she needs? The jury must look beyond Baez and the hear say, and go on Facts alone. Will there be any doubt in one of that Jury's mind to acquit or even go for a lesser sentence.(From the defence's point of view ) cough
For a while i thought there would be a mistrial, I'm sure the defence would gun for this. Not too be, we have an even Tougher Judge
I loved the quote from Judge Perry - "The truth and Miss Anthony are strangers"

^^^^^^^^^^ this, for whatever reason, off her rocker or completely sane and just a selfish manipulative liar... the death penalty is wrong in any form of justice
I really don't see the death penalty as the right answer (although from time to time I' rather think I'd like to see her fry) .........I know she;s not been found guilty yet but .....................c'mon what a piece of work that girl is. I'm (half) joking about the DP - I really couldn't bear to see her poor parents seeing their daughter sentenced to death. In all honesty I feel nothing but contempt for CA - I'm fairly certain she had a hand in the death of her daughter - she's put her family through hell and now at the bitter end is trying to implicate her father too.

Something has to be wrong in her, She should have had the correct tests done (these were not done officially) Although i know a few experts who have done tests, have said she has all the characteristics of a Sociopath and/or Psychopath, and indeed she has. She ticks all the boxes.
Sociopaths have a part of their brain, at the front that does not work the same as most average folk's. These links can take you to the different reasons why the brain can get affected and help you understand.
These people are hard and manipulative and selfish liars, very clever, and very beguiling, I've come across a few in certain mental health hospitals i have worked in.
http://www.ehow.com/about_5124...auses-sociopath.html
Prevalence of APD
The disorder appears in over seven and a half million people in the U.S. It's more common in men than in women, and a high percentage of inmates in U.S. prisons are sociopaths who see themselves as superior to others. This is how they get themselves into trouble with the law.
Causes of APD
The psychiatric community speculates there are several causes of antisocial personality disorder. Researcher Dr. David Sabatini claims the cause could be physical, pointing out possible neurological abnormalities in the frontal lobe of the brain. That's the area responsible for self control, planning and judgment. If that part of the brain is damaged genetically, or by disease or injury, sociopathic behavior could result.
If genetics plays a role, children of parents with the disorder are more at risk. If the cause is environmental, sociopaths frequently have a history of abuse in their childhoods. Many have parents with substance abuse issues, but none of these causes are concrete explanations, just theories.
Characteristics of a Sociopath
Sociopaths are prone to violence, have no regard for the safety of others, and are consistently deceitful. They're typically arrogant, but can be charming when they want something. Charm is a tool they use to manipulate people.
The disorder can be recognized as early as adolescence. Signs include the torturing of animals, setting fires, vandalism and senseless acts of cruelty.

I was reading about her previously, it was claimed the little girl hit her head while trying to climb out of a playpen and died from her injuries.
But prosecutors didn't buy it, they said the child's fractured skull and brain swelling were too severe to have been caused by a minor fall.
How long did her trial take

Casey Anthony Trial, Juror Profiles: What Do We Know About the Casey Anthony Death Penalty Jury?
Can Anthonyâs cadre of defense lawyers save her from being executed by lethal injection in Floridaâs death chamber?
In order to be âreborn,â as her letter to inmate Robyn Adams expresses, Anthonyâs attorneys must explain considerable evidence strongly supporting the 25-year-oldâs capital punishment charge for killing her daughter, Caylee, 2, in 2008, then dumping her daughterâs body in woods near the house they shared with Anthonyâs parents, George and Cindy Anthony.
Three-plus years in arriving, after a trial expected to take six to eight weeks, the verdict cannot come soon enough for case followers. On May 24, 12 jurors and five alternates from Pinellas County, Florida, will hear testimony to give â or deny â the young woman her life. Hereâs what we know about Casey Anthonyâs jury:
Juror 1 â The Counselor: White, female, age 65, married, two children. Retired nurse and volunteer counselor. Death penalty stance: âI value life. I also value the criminal justice system.â Has smelled decomposing bodies. Capable of understanding, relating to others the scientific evidence in trial, her communication skills and education qualify her as a strong candidate for jury foreperson.
Juror 2 â The IT Worker: Black male, mid-thirties, married, two children: a daughter, 4 and son, 9. Like defendant, Casey Anthony, jurorâs mother was a single mom. âMy impression was that, âyes, I thought she did it.â ... If I had to return a verdict, I would say ânot guiltyâ right now.â Death penalty stance: Does not believe in the death penalty. âGod is the one that makes the final judgment.â
Juror 3 â The Weaver: White, female, age 32, single, youngest of five children. Nursing student, St. Petersburg College. Crafty: Hobby is weaving; works in fiber and is a member of a weaversâ guild. Her pet dog is a rat terrier. Said she has little knowledge of and is not following the case. âI know my ignorance works in my favor at this point!â Admitted she wanted to be on the jury. On a scale of 1 to 10, she rates the death penalty at âa three or a five.â
Juror 4 â The Church Lady: Black female, 40s, no children, lives alone. Unknown occupation. Plays âFarmvilleâ on Facebook. âMost of the time, I play my computer gamesâ she notes. Quiet, unassuming, does not like to judge people by what other people say about them.
Juror 5 â The Retired Nurseâs Aid: White, female, late 50s, three children. Has 11th grade education. Had a driving under the influence arrest in 1998. Lives with boyfriend, a retired plumber. Was a juror for a criminal trial case. Does not own a computer. Works in yard, goes to gym. Death penalty stance: âI guess I believe in the death penalty. Iâd have to know a lot of facts before I really considered it.â
Juror 6 â The Chef: White male, 33, married, two children, ages 6 and 21 months. Sells restaurant equipment and is in Orlando on business once a week. Has University of Florida business degree and owns a cat. Did not want to be on the jury. Could vote for the death penalty; âIf the law dictated it, I would be able to follow it.â
Juror 7 â The Lawyerâs Daughter: White female, 41, divorced with no children. Once a victim of home invasion, but physically uninjured. Works as administrative assistance in juvenile justice welfare. She has limited knowledge of the case, maintaining that she could vote to recommend the death penalty. âIt would be â gosh â a solemn decision, but it is an option under the law.â
Juror 8 â Verizon Service Representative: White, female, 50s, married, two sons approximately Casey Anthonyâs age (mid-twenties). Father worked in law enforcement. She would have no problem with the death penalty if warranted, provided she had heard âall the facts.â
Juror 9 â The Logger: White male, 53, never married. Semi-retired; moved to Florida 4 years ago from Indiana because he was âsick of snow.â The caregiver for a stroke sufferer; he also does odd jobs. Watches PBS and the History Channel. He believes Casey Anthonyâs âwhole storyâ has not come out; holds no bias, supports the death penalty, and could vote to recommend it âin the proper situation.â
Juror 10 â Verizon Retention Specialist: White male, 57, never married, no children. When asked what he knows about the case, he said, âI really donât know any details ...â and that he does believe â... everyone is innocent until proven guilty.â Disclosed that his sister and her boyfriend committed a violent crime against their father. He regards the death penalty as a ânecessary option.â
Juror 11 â The Teacher: White male, 30s, unmarried. A high school physical education and health teacher who believes Casey Anthony is guilty, who also relates the opinion in the teachersâ lounge is that Casey is guilty. In his profession as an educator, says he âhad to learn to listen to differing opinions,â and could put aside his leanings in order to fairly judge Casey Anthony. States the death penalty is a ânecessary option.â
Juror 12 â The Publix Cook: White female, 60s, married to Publix supermarket employee, two children and one young grandchild. Has very little knowledge of the case, although she initially followed it. No cable TV; ânot that intoâ newspapers or TV. She does not own a computer. Rating the death penalty as ten on a scale of one to ten, she would have no problem deciding on LWOP (Life without Opportunity for Parole) or the death penalty.
Alternate Jurors
Alternate Juror 1 â The Executive: White, female, 48, divorced, has 5-year-old daughter. A project sponsor for an information technology company, she oversees computer software implementation. Watches more TV sports than news.
Alternate Juror 2 â The High School Government Teacher: White male, 50s, third marriage, currently to elementary school teacher; has grown son and two step-children. Had prior job in U.S. Postal Dept. labor relations. Has a prior driving under the influence charge that was reduced to reckless driving. Hobbies include reading spy novels; likes author
Alternate Juror 3 â The Widow: White female, age 37, has a 12-year-old son. Was married to a man jailed on drug charges; husband died during incarceration. She works as a car dealership cashier, lives with her parents, and says serving on a jury would present an âemotional hardship.â
Alternate Juror 4 â The Carpenter: White male, 25, single. The former daycare teacher now works as a carpenter and lives with his parents. He has a juvenile conviction for drug and paraphernalia possession, for which he served probation.
Alternate Juror 5 â The Water Reclamation Plant Operator: White, 39, married, no children. Former Coast Guard mechanic/military policeman. Has some knowledge of the case, which was ânot big news in my circle.â Prior to receiving a jury duty summons, planned on taking grandmother to a ball game. He plays computer games. Described a YouTube parody about Casey Anthony by syndicated radio personality, âBubba the Love Sponge.â Recalls odor in Anthonyâs car trunk that was attributed initially to pizza. Says, âI donât like to judge people on what other people say.â

So in this trial of Casey Anthony, she could get First degree murder, second degree murder, manslaughter, or acquittal.
I'm thinking it will be second degree, although have not heard all the evidence yet.
Many jury members had been excused during the process of questioning, due to already having formed an opinion and many other jurors were excused because they said they did not believe they could not vote for the death penalty in any circumstances. At least one juror said she could not vote for a guilty verdict in a death penalty case, because they felt so strongly about it.

I'd be very surprised if they bring in soil DNA to say where Calee was buried before she was found, the parents backyard always comes into my head with that considering they'd had yard work done at the time..
I hope she does'nt get the death penalty cos I don't believe in it any way shape or form, how is death a punishment its too quick, it only punishes the family left behind..
Another thing, when a person suffers delusions the people who don't know this see and think the person is a liar..thay are not a liar, many small paranoia's forms in their mind and that is the total truth to them, even their closest family cannot budge them from disbelieving what they are thinking,,each delusion manifests itself at different times so the person just looks like a compulsive liar..not all phyciatrists specialise in this field so she may be overlooked....

I'm wondering if the prosecution have any bits of evidence they have in store regarding the soil. I'm not aware of any disturbance in the Anthony garden. We still havn't heard exactly how the body first came from the car to the woods, or where ever to the car etc?

Yes a Pathological liar's to us, they don't see this, and can twist things if it suits them, to the point of making the other person they are having conflict/discussions with question themselves.
Casey was tested by 2 experts supplied by defence who wanted to use them as witnesses. The State were only willing to agree to this if they were allowed to test her too.
The defence objected, withdrew their expert witnesses and officially sealed the results.
It`s not known why they did this and probably never will be.

Day 5 Final Thoughts
My final thoughts are with Cindy Anthony, by all accounts a loving, caring, doting grandmother and mother. I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like for her to lose her granddaughter, to bury her granddaughter, and to sit in a court room testifying in her daughterâs murder trial. It must be unimaginable for her to accept that her daughter might have harmed Caylee intentionally. And the lies, all the lies, how do you make sense of all the lies? She must be wondering if she ever really knew her daughter, someone whom she loved and trusted, raised and nurtured, her own little girl at one time. Was her daughter capable of killing her own daughter?
What are your thoughts?
Day 6: Prosecution Witnesses: Mother & Friend
(LINK: Click for Detailed Update)
Day 6 Final Thoughts
My lasting impression today was one of contrasts.
As we saw photos of Cayleeâs things that were left in the car, her favorite doll, her car-seat, her backpack, the three things Caylee would always have with herâĶ and then as we listened to the 911 calls, especially the last one Cindy made upon finding out her granddaughter was missingâĶ we see Cindy crying so hard she is doubled-over on the witness stand, her face and eyes, red and swollen; while at the same time we see Casey sit at the defense table, listening, sometimes looking angry at her mother, sometimes looking like she was listening to events that had happened in someone elseâs life.
The last 911 call itself memorialized this contrast between Cindy and Casey best. We hear a distraught, scared, anxious Cindy Anthony, screaming urgently to the 911 operator that her granddaughter is missing, and then the operator asks to talk to Casey, and we hear someone who is without emotion, calm, talking about how her daughter has been missing for 31 days after being kidnapped by her babysitter. There is no crying, no emotion from Casey, and yet Cindy is inconsolable.
Cindyâs face told a story today of a broken and exhausted woman, her body collapsing into her husbandâs arms at the end of her testimony, her daughter staring at her sobbing mother without emotion.
The contrast between these two women was chilling.

Day 7 Final Thoughts
The nightmare, of what must have seemed like an endless night, produced no Caylee for Mr. and Mrs. Anthony, only their daughterâs arrest.
What a horrible nightmareâĶ one from which there is no waking up.
They had no answers, just a pile of lies to dig through, and an avalanche of questions that began with, âWhere is Caylee?â and ended with, âWhy?â
The police were digging through that pile of lies, which only generated more questions and more lies, but got them no closer to finding out where they could find Caylee, what happened to her, and why.
Is there anything that the Prosecution and Defense will be able to offer during this trial that will answer the âwhyâ? If Casey herself got up on the stand to answer these questions, would we, could we, believe her after the endless months and years of lies?
In the end, the only people who are owed some answers are Caseyâs parents. I hope she gives them at least thatâĶ some explanation, some way to understand, some peace of mind.

Day 8 Final Thoughts
Once again, I am left dumbfounded by the ease with which Casey Anthony liesâĶ it is truly disturbing. If there is an art to lying, then Ms. Anthony has mastered it.
How many Casey Anthonyâs are out there? They look normal. They look like your friend, your neighbor, your sibling, your children. They smile, they laugh, they cry, they seem concerned, they seem to care, and they can look you straight in the eye and lie, and stealâĶ and kill?
However it is that Caylee Marie Anthony died, by accident or with intent, I cannot comprehend how her mother was able to go on with her life as if nothing happened. How do you not break down once with the knowledge that your child just died? How to you go out with your boyfriend the same day your child died to rent videotapes; or spend the next day in bed with him, ordering take-out; or spend the next month going out with your friends to nightclubs and parties and bars; or respond to your family who have been asking for 31 days where your daughter is, without breaking down into a puddle of tears.
How?

I'd be very surprised if they bring in soil DNA to say where Calee was buried before she was found, the parents backyard always comes into my head with that considering they'd had yard work done at the time..
I'm wondering if the prosecution have any bits of evidence they have in store regarding the soil. I'm not aware of any disturbance in the Anthony garden. We still havn't heard exactly how the body first came from the car to the woods, or where ever to the car etc?
I hope she does'nt get the death penalty cos I don't believe in it any way shape or form, how is death a punishment its too quick, it only punishes the family left behind..
That's exactly it. Spot on
Another thing, when a person suffers delusions the people who don't know this see and think the person is a liar..thay are not a liar, many small paranoia's forms in their mind and that is the total truth to them, even their closest family cannot budge them from disbelieving what they are thinking,,each delusion manifests itself at different times so the person just looks like a compulsive liar..not all phyciatrists specialise in this field so she may be overlooked....
Yes a Pathological liar's to us, they don't see this, and can twist things if it suits them, to the point of making the other person they are having conflict/discussions with question themselves.
They had a new concrete pad poured while Caylee was still missing....
Casey was tested by 2 experts supplied by defence who wanted to use them as witnesses. The State were only willing to agree to this if they were allowed to test her too.
The defence objected, withdrew their expert witnesses and officially sealed the results.
It`s not known why they did this and probably never will be.
I'd love to have a nose in those envelopes....

Day 9: Prosecution Witnesses: Jail-House Visitors and Crime Scene Investigators

Day 9 Final Thoughts
ExhaustingâĶ in one word, it was emotionally exhausting listening and watching the Anthonys interact in their jail-house visits; and it was exhausting listening to every minutia dealing with the collection and preservation of evidence.
And then I thought how truly exhausting it has to be for George and Cindy Anthony, carrying the burden of losing their precious granddaughter, only to have their daughter facing a possible death penalty. They cannot shut off their laptop and set their burden aside. They carry it every second of every day.
And the attorneys, all of them, look exhausted. Doing the job our legal system requires them to do, to fight as hard as they can to present their case to the jury.
And the judge, who has to referee the two sides; play Solomon with every motion he grants or denies, or every objection he sustains or overrules; and attempt to ease the burden on a sequestered jury.
And the jury, how exhausted and emotionally drained they must be, to have to sit there and listen without being able to discuss any of it with anyone else, without being able to write about it in a journal, or find some other way to process it all; sequestered an hour or two away from their homes, their families, and their lives.
So many lives touched or affected by this little girlâs deathâĶ so many lives.

Thanks Stonks. Will look through link now.
I imagine all these things will come up when the Defence take the case in cheif.
As its the Prosecution's case in chief at the moment, they are pulling out all the evidence they can
and its damning stuff, rightly so if they are doing their job correctly.
But, we still have the Defence to bring on all their witnesses when they are in chief position, so who knows whats in store? The patio, testimonies, damning evidence for the contrary? who knows. Will be looking forward to hearing from everyone though. I know that

We will see if anything comes to light later if the prosecution mention this in court ^ or when the Defence takes the lead. If indeed they do at all, in any respect regarding mental health issues.
Thanks for the summaries everyone. A little behind in this case but trying to catch up.
