Good:  Went to Lush with a list of stuff  my niece wanted.  (She had texted me the list using predictive text so some items looked strange)
However I showed this list to the staff and they managed to find all it.  They were incredibly helpful and friendly.  I was so impressed that I wrote to the company praising the staff.  I received a reply back that this would be mentioned at the next staff meeting.

Bad:  Rang a company recommended by my local "Check-A-Trade" scheme run by Trading standards to come and have a look at my broken washing machine.   They came and diagnosed the problem promptly but that is where the good service ended.  Over the next 2 weeks I repeatedly (daily) tried to chase up when they were going to return to fit the new part it needed.  No one at the company could/would tell me if/when the part had been ordered.  I gave up in the end but did report this company to the trading team as unreliable and certainly not worthy of being part of their good service scheme.

Do you have any good/bad experiences ?

Would you believe I had bad service from John Lewis via phone

I'd ordered lots of penguin items over Christmas.  One of the items arrived smashed to pieces and another was missing.  When I phoned Customer Services they dealt with the smashed item OK but insisted that the missing item had been packed and sent.  I wouldn't mind but the missing item was one of the cheaper items that I'd bought and I spent rather too much on pengys for myself as it was

Anyhoo she all but accused me of having this item but that I was trying to extract another one from the company  so after suffering her smug accusations for 10 minutes I asked to be put through to a manager which I was.  The conclusion being that they finally accepted I hadn't 'stolen' this item because it was out of stock, had been for weeks so they couldn't have sent it to me anyway   They sent it to me when it came back in stock but no apology

This Monday I went to BHS and had trouble getting some items cos I'm a short @rse and not very steady on my feet and the young girl assistant who was working near me was wonderful - without needing to be asked, she helped get me what I wanted and my transaction went smoothly

Orange broadband. I'm not sure that I can describe their customer service as bad as their "customer service"  is non-existent in my experience. It was such that a BT representative advised me to report them to OFCOM, but the procedure is such that I would have had to spend so much time dealing with various outfits that it would have cost me more money than I was prepared to spend. The crunch came when my broadband connection was virtually unusuable due to faulty telephone wire connection. Orange refused to accept any responsibilty and BT said that it was Orange's responsibility.

I therefore had no choice but to terminate my contract with both Orange and BT (for the phone line). As I need an internet connection, the only choice I had was to move to Virgin cable thus dispensing with the faulty telephone line.

That is the shortened version of my experiences with Orange - I could go on but would say that at no point in my time with Orange did they satisfactorily deal with my queries or complaints, and are interested not in providing a service but only in taking your money.

Very good customer service from M&S before Christmas. I phoned to chase up an order I had placed online, which had been delayed due to the snow. Not only were the staff polite and helpful, they also refunded my delivery charge because my order hadn't arrived on time. The goods arrived the following day and were in time for Christmas.

SazBomb, I hope that you never have a serious telephone line problem whilst you are with Orange. I spent ÂĢ215-72 on trying to get my problem sorted, and that does not include the time I spent which must have run into several working days. And I was also charged a termination fee by Orange even though I was out of contract.

I would have had a very strong argument for taking Orange to court, but I suspected that they would not be able to produce their tape recordings of the phone conversations I had with them, and without those recordings, it would be my word against theirs.

Marks and Spencers home insurance.
I spilt wine on my laptop...( blamed the cat).
Reported it the next day ( weds)
old one collected by computer firm to make sure that it could not be fixed on the Monday.
Report given on the Tuesday.
New laptop - exactly to the same specs as my old one on the following Monday.
The whole exercise took just under 2 weeks.
