Going to be interesting to see how much better the English batsmen do.
Could it be all over by this evening?

If it keeps going like this!
England now in the lead
(having avoided the follow on )
(and I do know that a follow on was impossible )
Would I dare question you EL?

of course not
I think we won todays play.
clicks heels managed to watch a little in between stuff
Remarkable day for England â Iâm out of superlatives â and those that I can find simply fail to reflect the magnitude of the beating inflicted upon Australia!
The job is not yet completed but a first innings lead of 300+ would surely place Australia in an impossible position â bye bye Ashes and bye bye Michael Clarke.
I'm led to believe that the English cricket chappies are doing really rather well.
I wonder what today at Trent Bridge will bring
Surely it can't be as good a day for England as it was yesterday, can it?
560 runs or more would be a good day in my books. Then a few quick Aussie wickets
Can't understand why they declared just to have a few overs(3 I think) before lunch
England not having it all their own way today
I dunno though.....
Nice to see Broad getting a wicket at long last, it's been some time

Yes. He was probably beginning to despair of ever seeing the umpire lifting his finger again. Poor fellow

I think they do it in order to put extra pressure on the batsmen, Moonie
7 gone
Finish 'em off in the morning, chaps

only a tsunami could have saved them after the 60 all out yesterday...I was hoping for a win today, but I can wait until tomorrow
Me too, Dame. About time we had something to cheer about with our cricket team (and it doesn't come much better than giving the Aussies a bit of a walloping)

I agree Madame
Shall we have a sweepstake on who will take the wicket that regains the Ashes, this morning?
England regain the Ashes!
Did anyone seriously think we would be saying this at the start of the summer?
Furthest thing away
Clarke retiring after the last match
Brilliant!
For those who missed it, here's how "The Last Leg" covered the match last night. Enjoy!
Cricket even more tiresome and boring than tennis......runs away.

Knocked the middle wicket from down under them

Despite the crushing defeat of Australia I think England still have several personnel issues that need addressing:
*Graeme Swann has still not been replaced sufficiently â Moeen Ali has done well with the bat but is clearly not a frontline Test spinner.
*Are Adam Lyth and Jos Butler good enough batsmen at Test level?
*Who will be our long-term No.3?

I agree with all that CS...it's ok winning the Aussies on our soil, we need to sort out some issues Not taking it away from the guys, they did extremely well

I doubt they will tinker for the final Test unless someone is injured â so those that have under-performed (individually) should get at least another chance to shine.
Lyth, opening the innings averages 12.28 for the series with a top score of 37 â in perspective; Michael Clarke is averaging more, has a better highest score and has scored more runs during the series thus far. Lyth could really do with a big score at the Oval.
Whilst I really enjoyed this brilliant victory ....I listen to TMS everywhere I go...its all over too soon
Agree that Lyth and Butler need to prove themselves and we need a top class spinner, you couldnt ask for better after the misery of that 5/0 defeat in Oz.
England and Wales's fielding was amazing....that Ben Stokes is shaping up to be a major all rounder for the future and Wood seems like another young talent. The future looks promising.

I agree that the spinner is a bit of a problem. We have a difficult winter ahead of us in South Africa and before that we are playing Pakistan. (So many Test series these days).
I think that Buttler will be OK. Not sure about Lyth
