MSN... then text....

I've been there a couple of times meself

But Brisket, yes people still buy flowers *looks at bunch of white roses on the windowsill*, letters are more e-mails (but the content is still the same even though it's by electronic method), texts are a great way of keeping in touch during the working day when you might not have the time to have a full conversation, but, like everything, it can always have its downsides!

when me & Mr D were in the full on courting mode I was doing a tenner a day on my phone (then a pay as you go!).

10p a text...

actually it was like that with a couple of gentlemen (ha) prior to Mr Ditty.... and thems was the days before predictive text!    I can remember having a really sore thumb!

& no...  there was no mobile picturing involved... was in the days before phones had cameras.   AND... when we were talking online... I never went in for all the webcam malarky either...  was just the written word.

there's alot to be said for it.   When we were talking online Mr Ditty had to actually read what I was saying, before he answered.

Unlike now...  where I know he isn't listening to a word I say half the time!

awwww Saz!

I lost interest in the mass texting of jibberish  smalltalk once we were married...   and if I am honest at least half of his texts now make me tut or sigh.

But then they are usually stuff like (when he is out walking the dog)   "could you get a latex glove ready for me, and prepare the bathroom for me to wash the dogs bum"

which bugs me...  cos I manage to come in and wash the dogs bum without someone at home having to run around and get stuff prepared in advance!

Yes... on a day to day basis the romance has probably gone!      but that in itself is kinda romantic. to still be up for being here... in a day filled with dog bums, missing car keys, missing toilet roll & what time is bedtime negotiations!
