A drug that should never be administered outside of an operating theatre.
Uh oh
Oh dear.
No wonder the doc ran. He ****** up and will have to pay.
He's BAD!!
and this is supposedly a heart specialist
Either way, he is still as dead as a dodo! The only people that will win out of this revelation is his money grabbing family!
Discusting.

I'm sure if someone injected one of my family with a lethal overdose I'd be wanting soem sort of justice too! He had three kids, I'm sure the money will go to them anyway and can this doctor afford to pay out millions of dollars? More likely he will be charged with manslaughter, and whoever it had been in my eyes so he should be.
Has the doctor administering it? If not he could say Jacko done it himself I suppose?
just seen that on news
he had drug at 2.40 still did not sleep
he give him another one didnt work
then relented and give him the big one
and he didnt wake up
This must have been going on night after night

I agree.
Fancy using anthestic to put someone to sleep.
It's discusting.
any medic with half a brain would not dream of administering anaesthetic (propofol) outside of basically an E.D setting. Anaesthetic is what it is - it depresses the whole system - thus the need to have an anaesthetist present at all times and the appropriate heart monitors for heart function/b.p/pulse/temperature etc.
Also ANY doctor who can proudly call himself a doctor would NOT EVER administer propofol as a sleeping aid. As an anaesthetic, it can kill when used ONCE (thus the consent forms we all sign for surgery) - the anaesthetic ALONE can kill. To administer it over and over again as a sleep aid, I'm afraid, IS basically murder

nope
BUT
I have medics in the family AND I know for a fact that an anaesthetist MUST always be present when anaesthetics are given AND the 'patient' needs to be hooked up to machines to monitor the heart/b.p/pulse/temperature - these are basic obs. I have had one or two ops myself and my daughter has had handfuls - the very FIRST thing you consent to IS to be given the anaesthetic - the rest of the stuff on the form is for the actual surgery itself

Ok. Thanks.

How do we know he didn't obtain it illegally?

I think you'll find the doctor admitted to giving him it, however it was obtained the doctor gave him it. It's been on the cards for days he would be charged with manslaughter, seems the reults were know in some quarters all week.
I know what the doctor did was wrong, but I feel a little sorry for him. To be honest, MJ had enough money to get the drug other ways, it's possible the doctor honestly thought if he was giving him the drug he could at least monitor it a little and maybe prevent what happened.
I hope he gets what he deserves

There still no excuse for what he did.
it's a doctor duty to look after the welfare of there client.
Not adminstrate drugs that can kill.

The doctor had a rental lock up facility that was raided by Police weeks ago and they took away sackfuls of what was said to be different drugs. I can't imagine a professional doctor having the same situation.

And I am aware of that. My original statement still stands, but I agree he should be prosecuted for it.

I totally agree, more so because of him knowing exactly what could happen and did happen.
It doesnt matter WHO your client/patient is - a doctors' job is to SAVE lives not kill people. I dont want to harp on, but I've just seen on the headlines that MJ was given Lorazepam too (also a CNS - Central Nervous System) depressant, used to treat severe anxiety or siezures (along with shedloads of other medication apparently). Surely to be dealing with such an addict by SUPPLYING them (and you're supposedly doctor)...
Like I said before - the proprofol on its own can be lethal
that doctor/doctors/suppliers (pharmacies) should have the book thrown at them
