I did that and when I had a new sim I had to put em all back in again 
they normal transfer them in the shop...I got a new sim last time and they did it in 10 secs Moonie 
Mind you it did take a day for them to activate the sim

I have it at the side of me and keep pouring a glass and have to lick the tap so it doesn't drip on my carpet because I am too lazy to move to get kitchen roll and by the way, I am the only one that drinks red in here
