I still make them that way, a touch of salt after they have soaked and a tiny sprinkling of sugar.... I think this goes back at least 100 years in my family, my Granada made them like that, and he was a young lad in the trenches I don't use that tinned shite

It's the best way, Lockwoods frozen ones are quite good, they have been soaked in bicarb
